Does anyone know if we keeping any of our Olympic sports in the Big West going forward?
Soccer staying or going back to the PAC? Womens Sports?
My hope is that we can keep as many as possible in the BW.
It seems ridiculous to send our Women's Track and Field team to the Front Range when we could keep them in CA, and HI.

I think its an interesting idea and makes sense. It would certainly cut down on travel costs and be a step up in competition, but the Big West probably is not interested in that arrangement.

You either play UNLV in basketball or you hemorrhage money, there is no middle path.

at this point you are a member in women's water polo only. goaztecs.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/spec-rel/101212aaa.html "The San Diego State women's water polo team announced its 2013 schedule on Friday. The slate includes 12 home games and a new set of league opponents as the Aztecs enter their first year in the Big West Conference."

I think they were in the mpsf before that, they are really good, so the big west might be find holding on to them

So Men's Soccer and Women's Water Polo are now in the Big West?
Hopefully we can work on slowly convincing the Big West to allow other sports in during our temporary stay in the MW.

The PAC already backfilled. I'm not sure if the Pac did anything yet but CSUB won't be going. They must take soccer to the WAC now as part of their membership there. If the Pac still hasn't filled that, I'd bet SDSU gets it.

If the Pac still hasn't filled that, I'd bet SDSU gets it. The only way you leave the Pac is if the MW decides to start men's soccer themselves (AFA, San Jose and UNLV from the WAC and New Mexico with C-USA). With you coming back, the MW has five full members who sponsor it and only needs one more team to gain an auto bid and become a conference sanctioned sport; that can be an affiliate or a full member who decides to revive their program, ala Fresno or CSU. That probably won't happen, so you're staying in the Pac until further notice.

Hey James, I've warmed up to the BigLots name over time. You can thank Monty and SGF for that. Personally I liked Monty's BUS league - "Brotherhood of Urban Sportsmen."
