Third year in the row that James Rahon hits the wall half way through the season…. The guy is only good for the first half of the season and disappears for the rest of the season. My personal opinion is to sit him for several games to get his legs underneath him. For the second year in arrow X has been injured. X looked out of shape at the beginning of the season and was barely starting to get into shape when he injured himself. Now we don’t have a point guard as LBF will probably not be eligible until the NM game. JJ Obrien is starting to show signs of slowing down. Might be signs of an injury or just plain out fatigue. At this point we need our bench to step up until we get our bye week in seven days. The rebounding and the energy needs to pick up if he want to finish in the top3 in the conference..

we should have sent a proxy team to the big west. an aztecmesa poll would determine who stays and who gets relegated. at the end of the conference seasons, the top 2 from the big west squad would be called up and the 2 most under-performing from the MW squad would be sent down (of course again determined by an aztecmesa poll).
a closed practice, to everyone but aztecmesa psotters with over 85 psots, will then be held two weeks prior to our first exhibition next year. at that time, a hand vote of everyone in attendance will determine who keeps their scholarship and who does not.

I was wondering if the flu has had an impact on the team. I rarely take a sick day but with this flu I have been pretty much out of it for 3 days. I cant even imagine playing hoops with the flu.

X looked out of shape at the beginning of the season and was barely starting to get into shape when he injured himself. .. This is the second year in a row the team was gutted by an X injury. The team needs a point guard. X is too soft. He is good some days, but you can't have a whole season F'd up every time he gets hurt. DJGay didn't get hurt. A point guard is good only if he is durable. X on the bench - isn't good. X is on the bench.

there is absolutely no excuse for the team being tired. If they are out of shape, that's on the coaches. I suggest they put all those press clippings in a drawer and do some serious soul searching. Right now they stink and it would serve them right if they finished at the bottom of the MWC. For a coach in waiting Dutcher sure sits on his thumbs a lot. I see zip passion out of this guy during games.

This is a joke. These kids are 18- 23. Do you remember how tired you were at that age? It took about five hours of sleep and then you could run all day again. No way "the team is too tired" is an excuse.

Jordan...are you listening? ;D My bet is that the team will bounce back as soon as X is back in full strength and the flu has run it's course.

No way "the team is too tired" is an excuse. This is correct. But do you remember what coach said about lack of energy / enthusiasm before the game? Then where does that come from? I've got it figured out. [mod's note: post in violation of board rules deleted]

That sense of entitlement was probably due to reading their press clippings. Kids. lol The team is at a cross roads. Either use this game as a slap in the face and wake up and utilize their talents. This is a talented team. Or Point the finger, be selfish and sulk and go ahead and be a first round NIT knock out.

I doubt the team is tired. There's a major lack of energy on defense and rebounding from the initial moment they are on the court. They are going through the motions, looking for someone to get hot, make a big play or for the other team to roll over while the other team is instead going 110%.
A team built of athletes and not shooters shouldn't be forcing up 20 3's a game. Hey, you are 6/21 a game for 3's in conference so stop shooting them take it strong. Take away Jamaal and Shepard and this team has gotten to the foul line 20 times in 4 conference games (5 FT's a game). If the team would just get excited about D, use their atheticism and crash the boards and attack the rim and stop pretending they were a bunch of excellent shooters you wouldn't see us 2-2 in conference. Also, where in the world is Tapley? Run some plays for him and stop with this Jamaal with the ball figuring out what to do which tends to lead to a forced 3. Tapley is too good of a scorer to only have 12 more points in conference than Shepard yet 35 more minutes played.
