Still a "ranked" team. Even if it is just in one poll

Thankfully, the news is slow coming out of Wyoming. If they had the internet in Laramie, there's no way we'd still be ranked.

31 is about right. We've earned it.

I wouldn't put them in the top 50 after the last 3 games.

If they go 2-0 this week they'll be back in both polls, probably around 21/22.

Gonzaga has 1 or 2 hard games in conference. EVERY game in MWC is hard this year. Even WolfPack is a serious threat. I'd love to play that easy-peasy WCC schedule with this team. Even Rahon would look good in that conference. MWC teams are each going to have some 'L's. The rankings don't account for a conference with all good teams. AF, WY, Boise, CSU are all going to put some serious damage into the possibilty of MWC teams getting ranked. They already have. Ask UNLV. Next week, ask UNM. The fourth best team in WCC has 9 losses. Our 8 best team has a better record than that. It is a tough conference this year.

Can't argue with #31 right now. Team just needs to refocus and take car of business this week. 2-0 will get us back into top 25. MWC teams do seem to get penalized for in-conference losses more than the traditional conferences though.

We just got shellacked by Wyoming... the same Wyoming team that got ripped at home by a pathetic Fresno State team. For those of you who argue the MWC doesn't get any national respect... the fact that we are #25 in the Coaches Poll would argue otherwise.

Personally I think it is a little high, but is a testament to the stature of the MWC this year. An argument can certainly be made that it is valid, but we need another signature win. Right now only the UCLA win stands out as impressive.

As far as the coaches goes, they'll give Fish his due but if they lay an egg against UNR, it will reflect. Conversely, if they play to standard, they'll creep up a little. Amazing respect for SDSU to have them still ranked after last week.

MWC teams do seem to get penalized for in-conference losses more than the traditional conferences though. Wyoming isn't good, State deserves to be penalized. Had they only lost to UNLV the drop would have been minimal. //Sent from my GS3//

Drop to 31 or so in AP is an accurate reflection of the national perception of the MW, just as expected. Nice to see the coaches show a little extra sympathy... but that's not the question many were asking/addressing here since Sat night.
The sports writers, for all their failings, errors, etc... are both a reflection and DRIVER of national sentiment... and they have spoken. #32. The MW is *NOT* 'big time.'

I doubt that coaches are allowed to vote for their own teams but I bet Fish wouldn't have voted the Aztecs in if he had the chance.

The coaches can vote for their own teams and I'm sure Fisher had SDSU still in his top 25.
