Anyone notice that we have to travel to Vegas, New Mexico, and Colorado State in the 2nd half? All 3 picked (along with SDSU) to finish in the top 4. Has this happened before? Seems a bit unbalanced to me.

You play the cards you're dealt.

Fans of those three teams are probably complaining that we get to play all three in the first half.
It doesn't matter much - each road game is going to be tough for everybody.

There is always a rough patch in the scheduling. It doesn't really matter if it's the 1st or 2nd half of conference play because there is no break between the 1st and 2nd half.
I remember the 2010 team was @nm, @byu, @csu, @unlv in the same 4 week period.

Seems a bit unbalanced to me. I find it advantageous to play each at home first. If we play to form and get the win, the pressure is on them in the 2nd half of conference play.

Unlv has to play @ UNM, SDSU, and CSU in their first four games not sure that you got the worst of the scheduling.

Was going to start another thread but I'll ask the question here. Does anyone know if the Wednesday / Saturday schedule that the MW still uses for basketball is because of the old byu rule of no Sunday play? The current schedule sure seems to cause a lot of missed school time. Just thought about this as I was watching the Michigan osu game today.

Men's games are Saturday for best attendance. It has always been like that. Do what I use to do, schedule your school work and/or classes around the games so you can get it done.

I wish all of the big games would be on Saturday. I hate the idea that we play one big game on Saturday and then Wednesday the next time around. I know that the smaller teams want the same opportunity but the conference would do better with revenue if those games were played on saturday.
BIG GAMES ON WEDNESDAYS
UNLV @ UNM UNLV @ SDSU CSU @ UNLV CSU @ NM SDSU @ UNM

Actually, it used to be Thursday-Saturday. But that was when they had travel partners. They did it so you didn't have to go home, partners were: SDSU-UNLV, BYU-Utah, Wyo-CSU, UNM-AFA. So you'd go on the road one week and play one of those pairs, or those two schools would visit you. The week you played your travel partner was the week you had your bye. When they added TCU they dropped the travel partners and switched to Wednesdays.

BIG GAMES ON WEDNESDAYS UNLV @ UNM UNLV @ SDSU CSU @ UNLV CSU @ NM SDSU @ UNM The way they have it set up is that you play each team on a Wed and a Sat. So if you reverse the location of all of those matchups, you'll see that they fall on a Saturday.
