If you think this is hard, take a look at the Lakers.

As long as Franklin and Tap are good, SDSU are good.

As long as Franklin and Tap are good, SDSU are good. Ah no. Agreed. There was a stretch against Fresno where Jamaal and Shep were both on the bench and things looked pretty Awful. If Thames and O'Brien don't play tomorrow, we are in trouble.

Yeah, we are playing the BEST rebounding team in the MWC, and one of the best in the nation. We would sorely miss JJ, who has the best rebounding footwork on the team. That being written, I have been wondering for a long time if we'd ever play Deshawn/Spenser frontline together? CSU doesnt really shoot a lot from the perimeter and it may work out well against them.

We played Stephens/Spencer together a few times this season, primarily against bigger teams -- UCLA and Zona. I'm not too concerned about JJ sitting this one out. We should have no problem going big if we need to. Bring Spencer, Polee and Johnson off the bench. We'll be fine.

I called it. Tailbone injuries are no joke. Rather he plays or not, he won't be the same for weeks.

CSU went from one of the worst rebounding teams last year to one of the best this year. His name is Colt Iverson or is it Bill Brasky?

As long as Franklin and Tap are good, SDSU are good. this is not even close to being accurate.

Spencer 9.35 4. Polee 7.47 5. Winston 6.14 6. JJ 5.91 7. Tapley 4.60 8. Rahon 3.19 9. Thames 3.16 Outside of the guards JJ is our worst rebounder, this can actually be a blessing in disguise. This team has 4 very important players, Tap, Jamaal, X, and Stephens. JJ's production can not only be replaced it can be added extra.

I like Rahon starting over JJ and exploiting the mismatches just like last season. Either Rahon or Winston.

Not having JJ gets me worried.
CSU has a motor player in Pierce Hournung who seemingly gets a ton of rebounds despite his lack of height, length and athletic ability. I hate him for that...I'd love him if he were an Aztec.

This is supposed to be are deepest team in a long time so next men up.All guys are important and do their part . Aztecs have had games where Stephens, Tapley, X, Jamaal, now JJ have been injured , plus games where some guys have not played up to their potential ,even Jamaal and Tapley. JJ will be missed but it gives an opportunity for guys to step up Shepard, Rahon, Spencer, have given some good minutes, will see if they do it again or if Polee, Johnson, or ..... are up for the challenge. Also could help if we have a filled V(sixth man).

Not all rebounding is done by the guy who gets the ball, some of it is done by the guy who prevents the opponent from getting it (freeing it up for his teammate). O'Brien has excellent footwork and positioning. He often times forces the other's best to deal with him. I'm not claiming the guy is Rodman or Russell; but the way he works has definitely opened up things for our guards to clear the glass. Their is no quantitative measure for this (although is ORB% is 3rd on the team only behind Deshawn and Spenser), so I'm certain most will disregard it. But I think if you watch him closely you will see what I mean.
