In a nutshell.. www.sltrib.com/sltrib/sports/55591264-77/state-boise-league-mwc.html.cspThis has got to be driving Sterk and his other brain trusts crazy. They REALLY don't want to stay in the MW and actually have to rise above the mediocrity the program has been encased in for years and yet the BE has turned into such a joke of a train wreck what would they REALLY gain. What to do, what to do. Again, we don't always get what we want in life, but we usually get what we deserve. "Whatever".

Great line in the article about everyone being part of the supporting cast to Boise's TV series. We all know how unequal revenue sharing impacts on field performance. We need look no further than major league baseball's New York Yankee's and Boston Red Sox vs everyone else. And, of course, baseballs perennial supporting cast member: The San Diego Padres. Even your favorite team realizes what a raw deal the MWC is.. "A River in Egypt..."

Why would this article drive Sterk "crazy", UNLESS you assume that SDSU's only choice is to choke down this MWC mess and move back to this flailing conference? I'm not sure how any thinking person can view the Big East as even anywhere close to the embarrassment the the MWC and Thompson have become.

Do you actually think through your ideas before posting? No. Exhibit A. "Brady Hoke can't coach because he's overweight"

One thing I'd disagree with is that
At least in the short term, the Broncos will probably make at least $2 million to $4 million
That would mean that BSU is goint to be on national TV (saturdays) 4 to 8 time a season - doubtful.

They'll still get the 300k bonuses for all of the Tuesday-Fridays they're on ESPN.

Hey, what are the odds that SDSU next season winds up in a BCS bowl game? We're going to be good next season and there are a number of games that could wind up on national tv including the Oregon State and Boise State games. Now if we wind up in a BCS bowl, who on this board is going to want to share that $10 million with the rest of the MWC? Anyone? I can see SDSU generating as much as $12-13 million next year if we wind up in a BCS game.

God I wish this Utah State fan would retire from the board. What a cranky old douche.

1. Clearly BSU thinks their cut of a nBe contract is less than $4m per year...unless 2. BSU thinks their road to the football playoff is easier in the MWC, similar to the old WAC and the ease of going undefeated in that conference. 3. If State gets the same deal that BSU gets to get bak into the league, then I believe that we will earn more money over the life of the TV contract than BSU.
If you add SDSU into a 12 team MWC with Hawaii, SJSU, FSU, UNLV and Reno on our side of the conference then we would be the favorite to get to the Conference Championship game against, likely, BSU...
My prediction is that Peterson will leave in the next year or two and that BSU will be just another mouth to feed, nothing special.
Still, I would vote to stay in the nBe!

Utah State should have to pay to play in the MWC. They are worthless.

The MWC will be signing an ESPN deal for the Boise home games. Of course they will be on 4-8 times. Yeah on Thursday and Friday night, maybe on Saturday and maybe a Wednesday here or there. ESPN owns BYU's rights and helps them schedule games - they were on national tv (at home) 4 times last year (1 Saturday). so under this model it would be 1.4M. btw - still don't believe it is good to skew a conferance (as aTm and Mizzu). Just suggesting the $$ for anyone in the mw will be minimal.

Believe the early pick would be Louisville . Do not think many were pleased with N-ILL team that played Florida State. The MW is not really seen as a good football conference. BSU would need to run the table , win a good out of conference game , to stand a chance for a BCS game., BSU is a great Cinderella team , but lost an OOC game then lost to the Aztecs. Do not know how good BSU is doing for recruiting for 2013 , but seems the Aztecs usually lose a recruit or two to them.
