The real driver in Sterk's decision to stay in the MWC appears to be what the tv deal will be when the current MWC contract is up in 2016. Assuming both MWC basketball and football continue to improve, what's your take on what the contract amount looks like in 2016?

2016 might as well be a 1,000 years from now. Who knows what'll happen from now until then. However, I do know if the current MWC remains as is, the deal will be worth peanuts compared to other conferences.

Why is 2016 different? CBS has an option to extend until 2020.

I believe CBS has an extension that if it chooses to, could control the MWC until 2020. I'd give you a link, but I have to be at work in about 30 minutes.

We may not make it to 2016, if our income stays at the current level, or more likely goes down.

There's no reason to believe CBS wouldn't extend the contract to 2020.

Geez, who allows for a contract extension for the same deal into 2020? Craig Thompson perhaps? What a terrible job of foresight. Dude is a joke. How can any conference thrive, let alone survive under those conditions.

The Big 12 was on life support several years ago and only survived because the fired the commish. Why does CT still have a job? And why does anyone think that he can turn this around? He signed a crappy contract when we had Utah, BYU and TCU was on the horizon, now he will save the day with Utah state and San Jose? Again, why does CT still have a job

I voted 1-3, but don't think it'll be higher than 1.5.

But then again, this is Thompson.

are there reports now that Aztecs will need a 75% approval of the current MW members to get back into the conference. So would that mean the MW has already voted to let the AZTECS back in or we need to ask first , then they decide if we are thumbs up or down, possibly burn us by both MW and BE. Have the schools given CT the power to let us"come back on their terms" or let us hang out there. Have we gotten the vote of Yoda and Rebellions .
