...to win MWC title (or at least go 7-1) KenPom.Com has us going 7-1 in the first half (2 point loss to Wyoming) and 4-4 in the second half (losing at UNLN, NM, CSU & Boise St.). I'm not sure if Martinez will be back for our game in less than 2 week (guessing not) but if so, I'd think the stats would have us winning that game. The MWC is so brutal this year that SDSU needs to get off to a good start since we play 4 of the top 5 teams (exlcuding SDSU of course) on the road in the second half of MWC play. If we start 6-2/5-3 I don't see how we win the MWC with that tough second half.

We really can't lose a home game this year is what it boils down to. I know playing on the road is tough, but we should not lose to anyone not named UNM or UNLV. Can we bring it every night? Let's hope so.

No they don't, this team is good enough to win any conference game including in New Mexico and in Vegas

Don't get me wrong, I think we could very easily (well, not easily but there is a good possibility) win our 1st 8 games. But to say that it is a must is a bit off.
We can win at UNM, UNLV, CSU, and BSU (all of which are losses in your book). And while I really respect what Pomeroy does, and how useful his stats are; his predictive tool is a bit skewed until you get to February.
Yes, Ive read the article on how utilization of his preseason rankings has been more accurate than not using them. But at this point in the season, with many teams such as ours having played a lower pct of high leverage games, AdjO and AdjD are skewed by garbage minutes or coaches playing backups more early on.

I just don't see us losing all those games; realistically, @unlv and another game because it will happen. The Aztecs will only get stronger as Big Johnson and Polee get into the flow...and Rahon gets his groove back.

believe it could be an advantage to play road games at the start of the season ,if you have experienced team and you are still on winter break. UNLV , can practice most of the week , without classes. Travel when it wants and play UNM and then SDSU , while students are on break. Trust we can fill the V , when they come here.
