This guy should also check the national write-ups that Jamaal and some of our other players have received this year. Jamaal has been listed as one of the top 10 players in the country. How can he be on that list and also listed as the #3 underrated player. What a joke. Chase and X have also been listed as one of the most powerful backcourts in the country. I suppose goaztecs has all the "honors" that have been written about our players.
This writer should do a little research.

"Without him, San Diego State would struggle to win against any opponent." Well I DEFINITELY disagree with this statement. We're still a tournament team without Jamaal. In a lot of ways I look forward to him moving on. But he definitely is a baller. I agree with you. This guy is obviously an uneducated writer who has not been following the Aztecs. With or without Jamaal, we still finish in the top 3 of the conference and win all the same games that we won. We have 10-11 guys that could all be starters for a high level Division I team. There is no top 25 team that would ever reflect his broad statement. Top 25 teams are not one-man shows. They are top 25 because their whole starting line-up is extremely strong. I agree we's still be a good team, but we wouldn't have a chance to beat UNLV, CSU, UNM or any of the top ranked team without Jamaal, and we surely wouldn't have Final 4 aspirations. The same could possibly be said for Chase, Xavier or Deshawn. You can't expect beat the best teams without your best players. It's a blanket statement that applies to almost every team in the country.

Jamaal Franklin is just the 3rd All American in SDSU history. Seasoned NBA talent analyst like Jay Bilas and Chad Ford rank him among the most underrated players in the Country. ESPN.com has him 18th (1st Round) on their big board, and we still have Aztec fans that don't think he's good enough to get drafted at all? What's the basis? lol i love jamaal. but the way he plays does not lend itself to the nba (and in a completely different way than why we said that about kawhi). if i had to guess, he'll probably be drafted in the second round, but i just don't see him sticking on an nba roster or getting any pt. to be valuable, he has to be THE guy, and i don't see him A) getting that opportunity in the association and B) good enough to carry an nba team anyway. overseas or in mexico or in the d-league the guy will probably kill it though and make a nice career for himself. tell me the chinese wouldn't love the guy.

I see the the exact opposite. In the NBA he doesn't have to be THE GUY. He can do all the little things and make hustle plays while the stars take all the pressure off of him (just like Kawhi). The things he does well, he does REALLY WELL. The things he does bad, he won't have to do at all. That's why I think he will succeed. I guess only time will tell.
