Finally getting a little love for being one of the four remaining unbeatens by getting slotted in at #25 in the coaches' poll: LinkThey deserve it IMO. I know their 'signature win' was against a questionable Buffs squad (who just lost again last night at ASU), but I can't help but picture us in their shoes feeling equally deserving of the recognition. So congrats, Pokes... enjoy it while it lasts, as conference play is going to be so damn tough that I don't know if you can hang on the bubble, especially without Martinez. Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice, we continue to go all George and Wheezy by moving up two places from #17 to #15 - once again, the class of the MWC. Now it's time for us to take care of our business.

Complete meltdown for acknowledging and giving props to a conference mate in 3.....2.......1........ There are only a couple of squads I enjoy watching fall on their face in conference play, and those tundra-dwellin' cow tippers ain't one of 'em.

Great news, makes sense the coaches reward the Pokes winning before the writers.

I still think they go 2-0 in those games. It's when they get to the CSU/UNM/UNLV/SDSU portion of the schedule that they'll have problems. The Colorado win was nice, but I still don't see them coming out with anything close to a .500 record against that cabal. Apparently the CBS Sports writers agree, ranking them 5th in the conference behind the aforementioned four.

Going to be funny when they miss the tourney. They'll probably get into the NIT though. No CBI like last year.

If Wyoming played in the Big West, they would win that conference.

It's always tough at 7200 ft. But I believe we have depth enough to overcome that.
It's going to be one big game after another.

Hatin' on the Pokes just ain't the same since Rat Boy left.
Having said that, they'll probably end up like the Zoomies about 5 years back. I believe the Zoomies roared to something like a 17-1 start before they finished the season with something like 4 straight road games against the likes of SDSU, UNLV and UNM. I had a great time with all the Zoomie trolls when I predicted they would go 0-for-the-road, plus, would be one-and-done in the MGC Tourney, which is exactly what happened. They were ranked as high as 12th in the country, but ended up losing 5 of their last 6 games and were one-and-done in the NCAAs.
Hilarious.
Winning a hoops game at a-mile-and-a-half altitude and winning one on the road are two completely different things. The Pokes might go something like 7-1 at home in conference, but I don't see them doing anything better than .500 on the road.
