Good point. The only way we even have a chance to ever make that list would be to join the Big East. It will never happen in the MWC!

Sounds like they put this together by simply looking at our national recruiting ranking in football.

Not sure what the parameters of this are, but I find it hard to believe that WHYome comes in at #73. 5 spots behind Fresno and 6 ahead of Hawai'i- both of the WAC

I'm confused as to why BYU has not been snagged up by a big time conference yet. Is it their own snobbery that people don't want to deal with? They have a big following with a history of success and tradition.
I hate the bastards as much as the next guy but it is what it is.

So they've definitely got some value - if for no other reason, they're the only game in town. Anyone who wants something better has to travel all the way to Denver. Their big ol' pickup trucks only get about 8MPG.

Kentucky football?!?! #26?!? LOL!!!! It's called the SEC. True they have one of the cr@ppiest houses on the block, but in the SEC that doesn't matter because the streets are paved with gold. Kentucky will make roughly $2m tonight just watching Bama play Notre Dame. Kentucky is the 10th SEC team on the list, ahead of only Ole Miss, Miss St. and Vanderbuilt. So it makes sense.

Read this article this morning. IIRC it is based solely on how much money the football team made the athletic department...

I have no idea on how this guy determines a team's "worth". Yes, the big programs generate millions. Gee, file that under obvious. However, ranking Utah State under Idaho, and New Mexico State? I would say that #16 Utah State's value went up slightly today. Idaho? Not so sure. Part of those programs problem has been being in the WAC. I would love to see how that looks next year with all the moves. In the end, it is all pure conjecture and something he does to generate conversation and sell newspaper advertising.
Maybe he should value fluff pieces in journalism and ran how much they are worth to their newspapers.
