BS, You care about football. You already said you give your basketball tix away. I never see you pumping up womens basketball, baseball, or soccer. But I still support the team by buying season tix. I go to a few baseball and women's soccer games every year, whenever I can. I also give a ton, for me, of money to the Aztec Club. Not required donations to get better seats, actual donations with no strings attached. wow! you're amazing!

Lol, how long do you expect him to coach? Poor coach fisher, evrything he has done for sdsu. He's got at least a couple of more years in him right? That's how long I expect our stay in the BW to be. You act like he's calling it quits tomorrow. Im not at all, I think he coaches at least three more years. But in three years you can't tell me where our basketball will be, nobody knows. Most likely will be in the bw

Picture our basketball team without coach fisher, now think of our basketball in the bw without coach fisher. Two completely different views. Even scarier is picturing our basketball in the MWC without Coach Fisher trying to hire somebody decent to replace him with the money that he settles on because he loves it and is comfortable here... I wouldn't expect a football first fan to know this, but we actually already have a coach ready to take Fisher's place.

Now you picture hoops without both Fish and the money.... just try. What money? The money at this point is just supposed to keep our athletic program afloat based off all the doom and gloom hyperbole I've read the last week. I stayed on board for the move up until boise moved out. I bit my tounge when we were going to get 6 mill. That isn't happening anymore.

The extra $2million from the Big East is going to hire us an established basketball coach, build us a practice facility, AND keep ALL our other sports afloat! OH, AND buy us GREAT ooc games every year!

I wouldn't expect a T-Shirt fan to know this but about a decade ago, Coach Dutcher coached the team for a short time and not everybody was thrilled with him.

If you don't learn from history you are destined to repeat it. The hoops program will need money to compete once Fish leaves... really.

The firm that the UT hired said Boise was worth about 500k to every team in the BE. They aren't a deal killer.

Without attempting to respond to an ever changing landscape (in college athletics) SDSU hoops is destined to return to what it was before Fish once he leaves. So here is where we differ, if the MWC offers a chance to make more money for the athletic department or a better chance for advancement I am all for staying there. You on the other hand only can see the BW and how that conference is not as strong as the MWC, you seem to look at nothing else. Which, honestly, is fine... neither of us can predict the future so which ever way SDSU decides I hope it works for all sports.

You are trying too hard dirtball. The clear easy choice is BE/BW unless MWC bends over for us like they did for Boise.

Just don't think its going to be the huge amount we thought at first. Hopefully im wrong.

There is a lot patronizing from the pro big east side. The t shirt fan crap, like we should be ungrateful for any fan we have t shirt or not.

Look at the TV deal the Catholic schools are talking about getting right now from Fox, and they were part of the low ball numbers ESPN/CBS were putting out for us for all sports. I think the BE is more valuable than we've been led to believe.

I get your bitterness. But its only temporary. Well, hopefully, it won't even be temporary. But if we do land there, believing it is temporary is blind optimism. DaveL is the only one that has even come close to calming concerns. Perhaps engaging in thoughtful dialog of the larger picture rather than johnny-one-note trolls about the obvious poor quality of BW hoops would be a great start to calming concerns and really help elevate the pro/con discussion.... Just a thought. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards
