I've always felt the BE was truly a whole is greater than the sum of its parts (ND, BBall, Football). regardless... if the report is accurate -- the Georgetowns, DePauls, Marquettes and so on would theoretically make $4-$5 million each with a new television partner in their new league. So what does this mean for us - perhaps, it means that we lost a whole hell of lot of dollars when they left. but what it could mean is that an all sports c2c conference is worth more that we anticipate. A Fox spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment. A high-ranking source at NBC Sports Network, which has so far engaged in preliminary discussions with the "Catholic 7," declined comment. ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz also declined comment on the network's interest in the "Catholic 7" games. We absolutely have to stay with the BE and the BE has to go for a nation-wide all-sports conference. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8817624/fleeing-big-east-schools-working-lucrative-tv-deal-basketball

Unfortunately I think we'll have to make the decision on soft number - I see our choices as 1) a slow death in the MW or 2) a 33% slow death/ 33% fast death/ 33% survival in the BE... we have to give ourselves a fighting chance...

I think this is correct - it's unlikely that the TV deal will be in place before the end of the month so our decision will have to be made based upon a best estimate. It won't be an easy call to make, but fortunately, the MWC has set the net dollar bar pretty low.

Not Tshirt in the Tshirt fan, sense, ah you know where I am going.

Georgetown Villanova Marquette St. John's Seton Hall Providence DePaul
Not nearly as interesting a basketball league as it was with Syracuse, UConn and Pitt.

The C7 will have a better TV deal than the MWC's reworked deal. The BE will be on par with the C7 deal.

The C7 will have a better TV deal than the MWC's reworked deal. The BE will be on par with the C7 deal. I dont know how and why MWC negotiates so damn poorly. MWC gets a boost from $800K to $1 million per team before the Boise and national games while Catholic 7 is looking at 5-6 million per team for a non-football conference. WTF?!? Aresco was seriously going to negotiate a strong contract but then all the pieces started falling including Boise. But based on these numbers Boise doesnt matter as much as the TV sets. SDSU needs to get in a conference with Houston, Cincy, USF and other better markets. I dont know the actual numbers but I think worst case is double what MWC is getting and might look closer to 5-6 million when you consider all the football and basketball involved.

rumors say the new Fox Sports 1 network would pay the 7 teams plus 3 more teams- 10 school conference 500 million over 12 years for its basketball. East Coast loves its College Basketball much more then its college football.

If you had to rank the schools on history and current status I don't think it looks to good. On scale of 1 to 10...
Georgetown 8 Villanova 6 Marquette 6 St. John's 5 Seton Hall 4 Providence 3 DePaul 2

Nope but this means the BE has a better chance at a big payday than the pessimists thought. Maybe, but I think it means that the MWC has a better chance of capturing UConn and Cincy for football only -- if they have the will to go after them. Yoda out... .
