Big East For The Win, We Must Not Defer From Plan. I've been very quiet, spending time with friends and family during the long holiday. But always thinking, always re-formulating my options, but now I feel that Sterk needs to read this post, not as a AD but as a fan. The potential for the promise land is not via the narrow course that Boise has created for themselves, but the difficult route that SDSU may pave and choose, but its the right choice. The city of San Diego must listen for the rumbling earthquake that is so distant and in the future for the Mountain West Conference. It is presence was so faint and this article made me see and now I believe the course of action is to not defer from the original plan:

Reasons Why I Am Sure SDSU Will Remain In The BE:
1. San Diego State is more valuable to the Big East and MWC as most people think. If San Diego State stays in MWC then the potential for MWC to poach SMU and Houston is a reality that is far more feasible for those teams and most likely the end of Big East prominence over MWC. However, if SDSU remains in the BE, there is a potential to poach MWC of teams like Fresno, UNLV, or others that could break MWC in the long run. Lets think about the risk for a moment...but in the end staying in the BE gives us a potential for a better contract that could be in the works that could be in SDSU's best interests. This helps Basketball and Football because revenue means success. Don't believe me? Look at the premier BB or Football schools historic timeline and the evidence is there. Money translate to athletic excellence in the long run.
2. Academic honest is a gamble no school should try to taint with a promise of a pot of gold on the other side of the rainbow. That is what Boise will create, but the teams that are in the MWC won't see it until 2-5 years down the line, when they get tired of Boise getting more gold, than their schools. SDSU shouldn't be part of this, as the article pointed out, " the more money you get, and the more money you get the better chance you have of winning. It creates a temptation to cut corners, to sacrifice your university’s academic integrity." If Sterk is listening I beg him to not take the bait, the Big East is planning something big. I doubt that Aresco, with all his experience and friends, won't pull a rabbit out of his hat and secure a deal that will convince SDSU to stay.
3. I have always been a basketball fan first and foremost. I play basketball in a coed men and woman league and love basketball and love watching it. But until recently I wondered why football is the Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer of football. The answer is because football glows at an institution, it is football that propelled Ohio State to the next level as a institution. Football played a major roll in bringing the institution illustrious notability. Football is glowing for SDSU even if its faint, and basketball is the fastest-growing program that brought SDSU to prominence, but its football that will take the school to the next level. SDSU as a public de-riched institution. SDSU needs money, needs to continue academic excellence, and continue to excel in sports. To do these things SDSU needs money, and if you carefully look closely then the money resides in the Big East.
If Sterk is listening, then please make the best decision not for basketball or football, but for the school. Don't put our school's academic integrity in jeopardy. Its time we guide our school to the promise land. Its a gamble but, "Scared no money don't make no money" - Youg Jeezy. Sterk must save our school by keeping it in the Big East. The hardest thing as a fan is not knowing where SDSU will be in 5 years. I know one thing for certain, that SDSU will grow, regardless of what people say about the Big West or the Big East, I believe we will win. Staying in the Big East helps me visualize what SDSU could achieve, and I don't see that by staying in MWC.
