Aztecs will beat them. SDSU by 7. You heard it here first. We may never face them if both teams don't make it to the final. Don't get ahead of ourselves.

"we are more athletic than UCLA and should get our hands on more loose balls" You may not want to go near AZ without any "support"! Check & make sure your balls aren't loose!

Haha.. seriously. You gotta love our fans' perception of reality sometimes. This was not the Aztec opinion but rather some on the Arizona board. I think they were referring to the last five seasons and the overall direction comparing programs. We did not play them in the 34-4 season but they know we would have beaten them. But it is true we have only one two in a row. Is that the year they made the elite 8 while the Aztecs watched on TV? Come on, man! You're being ridiculous.

SDSU just played them first, so your comment is a not really accurate.

My comment was completely accurate. I think the Aztecs would have beaten them too but THEIR fans did NOT acknowledge SDSU would have beaten them, why would they? They still made it one round further, regardless of you claiming it was a fluke.

Don't get too wound up over that guy - he's just a rebel troll that comes on here to take shots at the Aztecs whenever he can.

I'm pretty sure SDSU held AZ to it's lowest points on AZ's floor! 46 Points if I remember correctly!

5 years?? We've beaten them 2 straight years after losing like 6854794 in a row. I am counting the years where they backed out from playing us since they knew we would win. ;D You mean the year they had the #2 overall draft pick plus they made it to the Elite 8? Edit: oh I see people are already mentioning this. Well the point is both have had good programs. We've beaten them twice in a row and earned their respect.

Respect AZ and their fanbase a lot more than the rest of the Pac12. Let's just get to that game first before we start predicting the winner, eh?

We may never face them. . This. The SDSU/UofA matchup will probably not happen.

There was a scheduling conflict initiated by SDSU that cancelled the last meeting.

The SDSU/UofA matchup will probably not happen. I would be curious to hear why you think it is more likely than not that the top two seeds in the DHC won't advance to the final. Who, exactly, do you think is going to lose to whom?

I like U of A fans. Most know their stuff and they actually root for us sometimes because they know a strong SDSU only helps the West look better.
I think some are offended by our Johnny Come Lately attitudes that some of our fans have.

Who, exactly, do you think is going to lose to whom? I was thinking the same thing. SDSU and Arizona will be highly favored in their first games and favored in their second games. I guess 4 games have to go one way for them to play each other in the finals. If the chance of each game is: 90%, 90%, 78%, 78%, than the overall chance would be 49% that they are both in the finals. So that would mean they probably would not meet.

There was a scheduling conflict initiated by SDSU that cancelled the last meeting. I think it was for the Gonzaga game and they said they'd rather not reschedule it, which is fine, we've played them quite a bit, ok to take a year off here and there. I seriously doubt they don't advance, so it would mostly be on us getting to the final, and I think it would be fairly shocking if we don't advance. I'd say 75 percent we meet in the finals.

No one was ducking anyone.

While UA fans are not as bad as BYU fans, I still remember the game a few years ago when SDSU was beating UA pretty easily and then UA made a run to cut the lead to less than single digits in the second half. The UA fans, who had been relatively shocked and silent the whole game, all of a sudden started chanting U of A, U of A, U of A trying to take over OUR gym. SDSU then went on a big run and won by over 20 as I recall. One on my favorite games as an Aztec fan. Only behind a few BYU games. LOL. BTW although the scheduling problem that year may have been initiated by the Aztecs due to a scheduling conflict, you don't think SDSU's best team ever that year had anything to do with UA not wanting to reschedule it? You guys have short memories. UA has stolen many San Diego recruits from SDSU. Many more than UCLA or any other team. Do the names Buddinger or Walton ring a bell? And yes, UA has a very good team this year that would be a matchup problem inside for the Aztecs.

We were never even in the running. If they didn't go to U of A they would have gone to another Pac 12 or big name school.

That's because Lutie lives in Coronado & got to spend a lot of time in San Diego County.
