"I love Obama because now I can get health care even though I'm unemployed."
"What happened to your job?"
"I got laid off because my employer couldn't afford to pay for Obamacare."

My friend, Jay got a job finally. He use to do heart surgery but contracted an eye disease and lost sight in his eye for seven years. He then was not offered back and after another seven years, the technology left him in the dust. Now at age 70 he has been offered five jobs across the country. All want him to work for two years, get paid and learn all the new technology and get him up to speed. Then they will give him a job in two years doing surgery again. This obamacare is a boon to him and a lifesaver, ta-boot.
That's the good.
The bad?
This is another of many examples that clearly show the huge doctor shortage, now and it's only going to get worse.

I'm sure it has more to do with the state medical boards. Get a grip and take your meds. You'll feel better.

Most of JOC's posts require a Joc dictionary, but this post is in plain California English. I suggest a reread and a retraction of your question. It is just common sense to acknowledge that obamakare will cause Doctors to leave the practice of medicine.

He is trying to get back in. ObamaCare has NOTHING to do with him being rated as qualified to perform heart surgery. If you think that the guy is qualified right now to operate, keep his number. I'm sure he's cheap.

The only plain English mention of ObamaCare was his last sentence; "This obamacare is a boon to him and a lifesaver, ta-boot." This looks like an opinion to me not a statement of fact like the others. Now, I worked in the healthcare industry for over 12 years dealing directly with the cardiovascular area of it. I sincerely doubt that many heart surgeons are leaving the profession because of ObamaCare. These guys make gobs of money. And they should. Now what ObamaCare might do is cause some of the smaller partnerships to merge into larger groups. That is happening anyway because the work load for smaller groups is brutal. I know that for a fact as a friend is a transplant surgeon and is talking about getting out because of that fact. His alternative is to merge his group with another and spread the load.

Your experience was pre ObamaKare. The rest is speculation.
