What do you guys think will happen? Hopefully, Tyler Lamb will fill one of this scholarship. We need scorers really bad for 2013.

Believe Lamb is looking to transfer to a school for Jan 2013. Do we have a scholarship to give him or would he walk on until Fall 2013. For fall 2013 we have 4 or maybe 5 scholarships , Tapley, Rahon, Stephens, Castleberry , Jamaal ? NBA. We are also going to need a PF . Shrigley does have his red shirt time to work on his shooting , scoring. or see if X - can move to SG with the new PG.

Thanks for the chart Bill. Team has 2-3 spots open for next season and biggest needs are a shooter (to replace Tapley and Rahon) and a PF to help out Johnson and Spencer (and replace Stephens).

It looks like we may have to battle UTEP for Dion Wade as well. twitter.com/GiveNGobballPat Lawless @givengobball Dion Wade, '13 SG from Findlay Prep (NV), tells me he cut his list down to Auburn, SDSU, UTEP, Gonzaga, and USC. All offered except Gonzaga.

It looks like Sheldon High , with the two -2013 Aztec recruits , will be playing in the Torrey Pines H.S. TournamentDec 26-29, Also Bishop' O Dowd from the Oakland area. A team from Houston Texas(would be nice to expand our recruiting into Texas),72 teams total

Should the Aztecs go after Fat Albert Joshua Smith? He can fill in the PF position once Stephens graduates.

The ship has sailed on Joshua Smith, unfortunately. The guy needs to be coddled and anyone who has spent anytime around Howland knows he is a cold fish in terms of personality. Kids can't relate to him, the connection is terrible, hence the part of the reasons so many transfers have happened.
That being said, Fish is a players coach, the father figure, the guy who players trust and gives guidance (Howland is not that guy). This is exactly what Smith needed to start his career, however the time it would take to repair the damage to Smith is too big. I don't think it would be a good choice for us.

I think if Josh were to come here and gain conditioning, he could be a force down low. We could get more needed size.

Adding someone that has put up 10 and 6 in 20 minutes into a rotation for a year and a half may be a good choice. Only The office of Fisher, Bland and Dutcher would know what else is available to us.

There is a lot of talent in CA. but it would be foolish not to try to try to look at some of the talent in Texas...... Many of the quality teams UCLA,Arizona, UNLV, have been bringing in guys from all over to compete even USC and UNM- would die without getting them. Teams from other states come in and sign top players from CA. IMO , Tony Bland is out there trying but Dutcher and Mark Fisher need to try to expand the recruiting also.
