Verducci's Top 10 has Liriano at #3, and one of our young pitchers in "Other". Rymer Liriano, 21, Padres, OF
MLB comp: Raul Mondesi
He has terrific tools -- a major league rightfielder's arm, size (6-foot-0, 210), plus power and enough speed to steal 98 bases the past two years -- but Liriano also showed an advanced approach at the plate and smarts on the bases. Signed at 16, he has not put up huge numbers (.270/.338/.419 in 492 games), but he only now seems to be putting it together.Read More: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/tom_verducci/11/20/arizona-fall-league-top-prospects/index.html#ixzz2CmcdckpqKevin Quackenbush, 23, Padres, RHP: Another closer with a power sinker who has given up one home run in 99 2/3 innings

He hit: .319 .383 .499 .882 with 65 steals. He went from "A" League in 2011 to "A+" and "AA" in 2012. Jumping leagues at a very young age is what star players do. He is one of the top Padres Prospects and just turned 21 in June. He is the reason the Padres will be content, for now, with Venable and Donorfia in right field. Lariano will be there soon. Outfield Assists2011 he played 15 games at Lake Elsinore and had 4 outfield assists. In 2012 he played 74 games and had 1. The word was out - don't test his arm. He then got promoted to "AA". In 53 games he had 7 assists. It will be nice to have a real right field arm on the Padres. It has been a long time since we have had one.
