Since you already have an agreement with Kansas, I really believe SDSU will not have any trouble getting other major teams to Viejas while you are in the Big West. Everyone knows about your program's recent and rapid climb towards elite status. They also say you'll have to really schedule big to offset a weak conference SOS; that won't be a problem. You have Kansas h&h, the pairs of guaranteed Big East h&h and undoubtedly more to follow. You'll still have room for cupcakes and whatnot too, so relax. You'll have some help inconference as well as we make efforts to raise our collective and individual schedules. Long Beach may be starting to build up an impressive home slate. They host North Carolina tomorrow at the Pyramid; next year USC and Creighton are scheduled to play there. www.gazettes.com/sports/lbsu/feature-how-is-long-beach-state-playing-north-carolina/article_8d4c38f8-2f78-11e2-9351-0019bb2963f4.htmlIt's not just the Beach - we'll all have a good name or two. UC Irvine hosts LSU this year; Hawaii has Illinois; we have LSU and Cal next year.

USC, UNC, Ariz, Fresno x2, LMU, Ohio St, Syracuse, and UCLA (all road games except UNC and one Fresno game)

No one can say we aren't trying. That said, at the end of the day the teams still have to win. It'll help us all down the road though.
in Pacific's final BW year they have Xavier, @ Gonzaga, @ St. Mary's (will either have them a second time in a tournament or face Drexel), and host Nevada. They're doing their part too before they leave.

I hope our stay in the Big West is very brief. Don't count on it. I'm expecting five years. If the Big West becomes stronger than expected, you and Boise might be here a decade plus. Hope SDSU's stint at least equals the length of their previous stay, which goes back to when the conference was first founded.

Not sure we're quite "elite" as a program just yet, but a solid brand has been developed. Flattery does get you places, though.
In a perfect world, UCSB, LBSU, CSUF, all perform at consistently high levels on the hardwood, as they all at least have some decent hoops pedigree, and Boise becomes more well-rounded in their athletic department. Big West is a challenge for our Olympic sports, but it's gonna rip up Boise.

It is better for the Aztecs SOS if LBSU (and others) would schedule weaker opponents and win. That is the way RPI works.

That is the way RPI works. This year UCI looks like your enemy. They already knocked off Nevada and came within a free throw of defeating UCLA. They still face USC, UNLV and Fresno before conference play. They could win all three (which would really hurt your RPI and SOS) or lose all three (the more likely outcome). I only see them beating Fresno. You do have to take Shabazz Muhammad's absence into strong consideration but even then UCI looks like a much better squad this year.

CSUN over USD at the Slim Gym last night 74-71. Northridge is now 2-0 against the WCC since they beat Pepperdine earlier. Many here were very down on the Matadors a year ago but they had just two seniors and two juniors. CSUN is going to be a very good team by the time we join the Big Lots.
