better hit your free throws! UCI was 11-21 at the line. Give us time buddy we'll work our way UP to that level!

UCI is ahead of where I expected us to be at this point in the season. But, it's still pretty hard to gauge where we are with only two (DI) games under the belt. Nevada is rebuilding their front line and UCLA is a pretty young team overall. Without the the experience of the Wears, I'm sure we would have handled them.
One thing is for sure, UCI has quality depth and SIZE. We're starting to remind me a lot of Bob Mickillop's Davidson teams or the Belmont teams that go very deep and are able to win with good (not great) talent and depth, ball movement on offense, and high energy.
We're starting to get more foreign players. We just added a Greek 7 footer to go with 7'5" Ndiaye and we have a British PG coming in. Our recruiting is already done for next season. Things are looking pretty good in Irvine.

Yeah, Josh Smith is a slug and Holland has been a huge disappointment but that doesn't not at all mean the Bruins don't have a ton of talent.

Even without him UCLA still has Kyle Anderson, although he was injured a bit vs Irvine. The Wear twins - there's stuff on that roster.
