I have been involved in recruiting for the better part of 15 years, well before scout.com and rivals.com became staples of the recruiting world. I see the camp circuit and star ratings as crocks. No disrespect intended, just my opinion. I have NEVER advocated for my kids to go to camps. I believe that kids should get offered on their BODY OF WORK, NOT on some supposed guru's thoughts of the kid. The ONLY people I want evaluating ANY kid that plays for me, is the guy that is going to be offering the scholarship and sending the NLI. No other opinions matter. Recruiting and projecting out is an inexact science at best... SDSU has what looks to be a pretty good recruiting class from what I've seen on film via hudl and film exchanges with other coaches. I would fixate myself on where a kid fits schematically versus how many stars he has.

Pretty much. Star ratings are cool to brag about for us but in the grand scheme of things really aren't all that important. Especially when our staff has a track record of find players that were under the radar.
