and easily the best of the carrier games... Well, I suppose, since it was actually played. Not me, I'm hoping we get our next gimmick game on top of Mount Kilimanjaro

Not a big deal. Great experience for the kids, the fans and the city. When people look at the game they won't forget it was outdoors and if they need a reminder they can check the shooting numbers.

actually might be sort of cool to stack a team like Syracuse and play all home games exclusively on a carrier...talk about home field advantage!

Well, our shooting was crap on both ends of the court. Can't blame the wind all the time. Like our Sweet 16 team, free throws are killing us. Oldie Out This kind of stuff cracks me up. You mean the team tat lost a grand total of three games? Which of the three could they have won? Free throws have never killed this program. We have been a decent ft shooting program over the years. Some years great, other years so so. But everybody loves to talk about it because it's obvious to the uneducated fan.

Relax. This was a great experience for the kids. This season is about preparing for the post season. If we are or are not ranked going into the post season doesn't matter. I just want to see the Sweet 16 again. Exactly. Don't panic. They are better (right now) and it was great pub and experience for the team and community. I'm not a fan of the outdoor game, but I'm all for playing in any kind of showcase game that gets players and fans excited. We will be fine. More than fine. Go Aztecs. Love that basketball season has started.

This game had no relationship to basketball. Playing in the bay in the afternoon when the wind is blowing is just plain stupid. There is a reason basketball is played indoors. As they say in golf, nae wind, nae golf. If the wind can effect a little golfball what do you think it does to a basketball?
The whole idea of these games on aircraft carriers is just plain stupid and the person who came up with the idea is an idiot. And SDSU agreeing to play in these conditions knowing they would have no chance against an inside oriented team is almost as stupid. There is a reason people with sailboats plan to take them out on the bay in the PM.

This is how I feel...lots of over-reaction...we weren't playing Wyoming...and these conditions made this game a huge longshot for us against a very long Cuse team playing zone at an expert level...in spite of this, I thought we held our own on the boards and gave them problems with our D...we just couldn't hit Fts or outside shots at all...you never beat the Cuse zone when you shoot like that

I'd love to see the Vets Day game be done in a Military fieldhouse. Some have more seats than they had today, it'd be indoors and no issues with weather.

I'd love to see the Vets Day game be done in a Military fieldhouse. Play it at Larson's Gym. Had MANY a game there.

Play the Syracuses and other better programs of the basketball world. I'm totally for it- I embrace it. Just play them in an environment where we can measure ourselves against them. My last post on the subject.

It a gimmick game. Syracuse accepted because they knew the would match up well. Fisher facilitated (I assume) the game because it would be a great experience for the team. It's good for the players and the program, even though we lost.

I could tell from the minute we threw up our first shot that the wind was in our heads, and it was an uphill battle against ourselves on a lot of different fronts. Overall, I felt we played OK in spurts, but we let the negative mental factor take over. Jamaal tried to do too much (just like the beginning of last year), all of the shooters thinking twice about shooting, over thinking during the free throws and essentially aiming the shots, rushing everything (especially the easy lay ups)...it was still obvious to see that we will be a good team, we just need to stay relaxed and play confidently. I feel like regardless of the outcome of this game, it will help us moving forward. We wont play many other teams that are the same size, length, athletic and just plain good as Syracuse. Im choosing to look at Tuesday as the new beginning of the season...today just had so many 'out of the norm' factors to account for.
