Doesn't this whole scenario really reek of confusion??? I mean........ really! All of a sudden we go from the favored, most logical option, for all the reasons the Hamilton family and Isaac have stated/shown to being cut with UTEP and Baylor still in the mix. Something seems very wrong here and very sudden.

It also seems like Isaac is somewhat controlling the destination of Daniel. Seems like he should have an equal say if they truly are a package deal. I think we need both guys though, otherwise we wouldn't have such strong interest.

Anthony Marshall is a senior. Hamilton would start for us Not sure you want a freshman manning the point who has never played the position before? Even if he is super talented. All kinds of examples of supremely talented kids who tried to play point and it didn't work out. Do you know if he will be playing point guard in HS this year?

If it is true that Hamilton has eliminated SDSU from his list, then all I have to say is this kid comes across as a true mental midget. You are sad.

I don't think he's asking about Shepard. Hamilton has played PG in HS and probably will play some PG this season.

Shepard did not play PG in H.S. I don't think he's asking about Shepard. Hamilton has played PG in HS and probably will play some PG this season. I don't think we would have wanted to go into this season with Shephard as our starting PG either. Sounds like Hamilton has played some PG, but you need experience at that position to make a deep NCAA run.

Hamilton is a special player. would flourish under rice's system. I can't decide what I think. From what I've read and heard, Hamilton's game fits squarely as a 2 at the NCAA level. He has the build to play the 1 in the NBA though, and I think that's what is motivating his decision. I think that's probably smart. It is curious that he expects to walk right into a position at the NCAA level and flourish at a position he hasn't been recruited to play until recently. It could work out really well, and if this wasn't one of the Hamilton brothers I'd say this is the sort of kid who ends up transferring after a year at a school where he tried to fit into a role he doesn't really play. It's a lot of speculation on my part--just sharing some thoughts. I don't have much certitude in this opinion so UNLV fans, you don't need to flame me for not knowing what I'm talking about. Just curious to me.

Good to hear. CBS Sports also put on its recruiting update blog today that SDSU is still in the mix: 1:08 p.m.: From @gq2scoops: With every thing going on with Bazz & UCLA, why do you still think the Hamilton brothers will go there & not UNLV? Not sure the Shabazz Muhammad situation affects Isaac Hamilton and his brother all that much. Muhammad would likely not even be there with Hamilton arrives, whether the NCAA intervened or not. I think it's a tough call with Hamilton, but UCLA had a lot of momentum recently. UTEP, San Diego State, Baylor all still in the mix, along with UNLV and Washington. * * * * 9:54 a.m.: @johnjaymjr asks "If Hamilton doesn't go to UCLA, is Baylor 2nd most likely landing spot?", while aztechoops wants to know if Hamilton will sign early. The plan was for him to sign late, but there has been plenty of talk about him making a decision soon. With so many schools still involved, it could be tough for him to decide, though. UCLA might be the leader, but UTEP is also right there. San Diego State had done the best job with him up until recent weeks. www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/recruiting/blog/eye-on-college-basketball-recruiting/20974335/early-signing-day-live-blog

Great to hear that Isaac is still considering SDSU. Yup. A five star recruit simply should not be worried about playing time - choose the school that is the best fit for you. We will need someone with a smooth stroke after this year, we all know that is not Shepard's game.

After watching the Scout interview and listening/seeing Isaac respond to the questions it has become apparent to me that SDSU is in the caboose position. He has taken final visits to Baylor, UTEP, UNLV & UCLA. He was very hesitant to name his 5th final visit....could be Wash., could be SDSU or could be someone else.......he doesn't know or won't say. There was no excitement, etc. when talking about SDSU other than a good coaching staff with Bland and Fish. A far cry from all his other interviews previously when talking about SDSU. Somehow, somewhere the passion for us has gone. Is it because he now feels he wants to be a shooting PG rather than a SG and feels others are a better fit? Don't know, but we should be engaging in Plan B immediately in my opinion.

After listening to him on Scout, he has not narrowed down his list. He continues to talk about each program like he could go to all of them. I think this whole list cutting is writer bias. You hear what you want to write.
