Free ride on the trolley from SDSU station to Qualcomm on game days with Student ID card. Would take coordination with MTS, but would promote public transit to students who may choose to ride the trolley on other days.

I am a recent alumn, 2011, so I can say first hand that there is nearly NO promotion of the football games/programs outside of a column in the Daily Aztec. It's sad.

Student tailgate inside the stadium in the area behind the scoreboard. Nay. That's where the Marching Aztecs park and where we warm up and do our thang. But I think the student tailgate is a good idea; they should just hold it in a different area of the stadium's parking lot.

Not in the parking lot, they already have student tailgates sponsored by AS. I mean on the concourse inside the stadium. There is a fairly large area behind the scoreboard. Think Family Day/ carnival, with a DJ or live bands that stop at kickoff and resume at half.

Unfortunately it all starts on campus, and it sounds like there isn't much being done to promote on campus.
Computer Screen savers in the library & computer labs should have football schedules or promotion of some kind.
Spirit contest in the dorms. Wining floor gets recognition at the next game. (Freshmen now must live in the dorms)
Promote shuttles or buses from the dorms to the stadium.
The commons and student stores should have promotions for the games. The custom ordered Aztec Shops cups and bottles of water should have athletes on them or something.
Red n Black Fridays, support the team wear your colors promotion.
I'm sure there are a ton of things that can be done, and it would take time to catch on, but the daily campus atmosphere is were it needs to start. Just like the team needs to have a winning attitude swagger and believe they will win, the students need to be instilled that their team is a winner and should be supported.

I'd like to see us give a voucher for a free game ticket for every game to EVERY kid playing pop warner football in San Diego County. why just the kids in pop warner? allow kids in free with the adults, period! i'd take my boys to a game or two but quite frankly i don't think they'd be interested and I'm not going to pay for them to go and not be interested. But if they were with me, I'd be paying for parking, my own ticket, refreshments/treats for the boys while at the game. as it is, they get no money. the bigger problem is that there isn't a football vibe for college football in this city. let's face it, we live in a city where there is a lot to do. this isn't Norman Oklahoma where the only thing to do on a Friday or Saturday night is watch high school and college football. we have fantastic weather and plenty of things to do besides watch football so it's just hard. Plus, the Q is probably just too big a venue for state anyway so it's always going to appear empty despite how many people are there to watch. it's not an intimate place to watch the games.

For example, all they did to "promote" the game last week was put an ad in the Daily Aztec. The school needs to step up their game next year, considering we'll be playing in a more major conference. Those empty seats aren't going to look too good on national TV. Nay. That's where the Marching Aztecs park and where we warm up and do our thang. But I think the student tailgate is a good idea; they should just hold it in a different area of the stadium's parking lot. That is sad. i live near campus and drive thru there on a daily basis. During football season, there is no visible promotion on the streets near Montezuma and College which is terrible. If there is no promotion visible on campus, there DEFINITELY is no promotion visible to the rest of San Diego County. Not one billboard i've seen. Only the posters and pocket schedules that some of us have helped distribute to spots around town. Weak.

Hopefully there is a concerted effort by the marketing department to show out big for 2013. We'll have a lot to sell.
Three straight bowl games, with hopefully a bowl win. Possibly a ten win season. A possible Top 25 ranking. First season in Big East. Oregon State at home. Returning a TON of starters and role players.

Just how victories are won by how hard the team works in the off-season, the marketing department needs to work just as hard in the off-season to build up hype and promote their asses off! Its called preparation. The internet is one place to start. Easy, fast, cheap. Get err done.

Maybe they can get some tailgating events of some kind to attract students to the stadium. I agree that they should do deals to high school and pop warner players. It'll grow, really. I think next year, attendance will sky rocket with us having an aggressive ooc schedule and joining the BE. This is the issue There are far more students tailgating than inside the stadium I remember as a student, most of the people I was tailgating with never made it inside the game.
