Horrid showing by the students for such an important game. I'm looking at 3 1/2 completely empty sections. A mass of blue seats cordoned off just for their use. Maybe the equivalent of one and a half are full.
For those students who showed, well done. They're at least trying.
But seriously, the Q has got to go! It's a hell-hole stadium, crap tailgating, and too far for students -- the future season ticket holders-- to bother with, even with a decent team to watch. I'm not even sure I can blame them for not being here, not when they know the university is capable of providing first-class venues and sports just a few steps from the dorms and Greek houses.
End this misery. Start drawing up on-campus plans!

I will blame the students. My generation had way more support for the team. We had to drive to games, and drive back drunk. Now I expect the student apologists tell me the day so nice that skateboarding had a higher priority.

I was definitely disappointed in the student turnout for this one. No Halloween parties to use as an excuse this time. Only 30K for a significant game? Pathetic.
Student attendance was weak. Non-student attendance was weak. The marketing department needs to seriously step up their game and make sure people know what's available on Saturday afternoons/evenings! I don't recall seeing a single TV ad for the game this week. Weak... very weak.

Hard to argue. Sucks that students probably know us as a basketball school. A lot of students are probably clueless that we beat Boise St.
We could use a big home win over a big time school. A top 25 ranking wouldn't hurt, and neither would some time on sportscenter.
But there is no excuse. I'm not a student anymore, but I don't think there is a huge buzz on campus like there is in the San Diego community with alums.
If the game was at 5 PM today I do think we could've gotten an extra 1000-1500 students but regardless, I wish our student body would get into our football team.. but I can't force them. It's just what we deal with.

It looked like more fans traveled from Air Force than students traveled on the trolley.

What are the attendance stats like in the big east? Is mediocre the norm, otherwise we're gonna be embarrassed with this kinda turnout.

I'd pony up $200, and even $2,000 of your $200M -- and think many, many others could and would step up to the plate, from alums to fans to corporations -- to get this obvious necessity done, especially knowing full-well what the reward would be: A big-time college atmosphere that recruits want to play in and students want to be at. It's already been done on a 1/4 scale, and it's called "Viejas Arena". Go check it out. The Q is as relevant as the Sports Arena.
