Does anyone doubt that if he had last year's offensive numbers that the gold would have gone elsewhere?

Looks like Headley is gonna get a huge payday after next season if he repeats his stats of this last year. Yowza. Good luck trying resign him now, Padres.

Podpeople, you might not have been in town when it happened, but we have a new ownership that is committed to winning. Expect the Padres to finally get into the 25th percentile of MLB payroll. yes, I know of the transition. I've been quite happy with thte decisions they've mad up to this point. I was intiially upset about the fences being brought in, but at the same time, whatever helps the opposing teams would help us as well. We're just going to have to be willing to invest in quality pitchers now, instead of relying on home field advantage that was one of the hardest places to hit in all of MLB... In regards to Headley, Hey, if they're willing to pay the guy 10-12 mill a year, I would be pretty damn happy.
