www.remappingdebate.org/article/tale-two-systemsWhen looking at the world economy as a whole, we are doing well. Germany is doing better. They do things very different than us in many ways. Strong unions are part and parcel to their economy and protected by law, high wages, high taxes, strong safety net. According to conseratives this is a recipe for economic disaster, yet Germany has profitable companys, an advanced economy, and lower unemployment rate than us. How is this possible, cons?

One might look to the quality of the cars and the productivity of the workers. You can't produce crap and have unmotivated drug ridden slovenly workers and expect a good outcome when the engineering in the beginning is crap. Apples and Oranges!

Germans are good people, Americans are bad people. It is all clear to me now.

So American workers are "drug ridden", "slovenly", "unproductive", and "produce crap". Having never worked in the private sector and more specifically, in manufacturing, you don't have a clue about what you write about. The American worker is the MOST productive worker on the planet. That is how we can, somewhat, compete with workers in China and India who make less than $10.00 a day. You should take pride in America and the American worker instead of denigrating them.

Take a look at a Dodge or Chevy and compare to a BMW or Toyota (made in USA) and you will see a big difference in quality. Of course we are very productive in general, just not in the Auto Industry.

Germans are over-taxed. Americans are over-taxed. The British are over-taxed.
The German government is spending too much. The American government is spending too much. The British government is spending too much.
Hmm. What's your question?

Seems like the central theme is that no one has a revenue problem per se, but everyone has severe spending problems...
