I was not all fired up about moving in the fences. I think what they did won't make much difference. I do like that the new right field fence will 8 feet, just like center field. Plays at the wall make for exciting baseball. I like that the opposing bullpen will be moved. They shouldn't be on the field.

The Padres player most helped by the changes will be Will Venable. With 15 feet closer and an 8 foot wall in center.

Will Venable should be starting versus right handed pitchers, as he did most of the year. .270 .339 .440 .779 Will Venable versus Right Handed Pitching .262 .327 .434 .761 Average RF production He is an above average right fielder offensively. On the road Will Venable was very good. Will Venable on the Road.286 .365 .509 .874 A .509 SLG on the road is very good. With the shorter fences he may show some of that ability at home.
