Kid looks like he has game, and his big bro playing here would probably be helpful in landing him. What do you guys think about this kid?
*Sorry don't know if this has been discussed, haven't been on here for a while.

My impression...no physical moves on that highlight reel - all seemingly wide open including jump shots which tells me he must have missed all the ones with a hand in his face. His jumpshot is a bit too compact and slow - not very fluid with a slight hitch. He has leaping ability for his size, but he will have to learn to attack harder which may come with maturity. The potential is there but I'm thinking he is a "UC Irvine" caliber recruit today. I hope he gets some aggression (hitting the weights harder can help there) and focuses more on tweaking his release because we can attract him if the talent is there.

I'd say he's more like Nevada/CSU.

Malik was pretty impressed with a weekend visit to UCI. My guess is his recruitment heats up a bit over the course of the upcoming season. As of now, it appears UCSB, USF (San Fran), and UCI, are showing the most interest.
