chicken/egg. Support making it better by pressuring the admins, don't bag on the team. We don't understand that dynamic. Look now, a perfect example, the amount of venom and quitting already is emblematic of our weak-ass fandom. We are part of the problem. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards We just disagree strongly. Let's go all the way back to the origin of football. Do you suppose that some school just built a stadium saying, "Okay students and residents let's fill it up and show the team---players and coaches to be named later---that we really really love you." ? Or is it more likely that they started the sport and virtually no one showed up to watch at first. Then as the team won more often than not, it created more and more fans? Then bigger and newer stadiums? We have a role. Inject the dark, smothering pall of negativity and it is very hard to overcome. We have a role. Pressure the admins, not bag on the team. Coaches and recruiting do that. Stating the obvious is neither dark nor negative. If you are happy with things as they are, good for you. But there's no need to be dark and negative toward those who are not.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards Yes, of course I was paraphrasing, but you get the point. I don't recall bagging on the team other than to say it's not good, but that is simply stating a fact. I don't "call out" players specifically. My case is with Rocky and the administration and just so you know, I've sent letters by post and email to all of them with power over the program.

SDSU is a Basketball school now. With only a FB team in a basketball conference. and that Basketball team in a baseball and soccer conference

I pose this as an honest question, not trying to cause a firestorm: why would any recruit choose SDSU over a Pac-10 school? With the exception of Wazzu. Keala King left Arizona State and is now at Long Beach State. Granted, this was basketball but such occurrences happen in football too. Why recruits could pick SDSU over a Pac-12 school? For starters, how about: - opportunity to play right away - see more of the country (especially next year with the BE)

How many programs had 10+ years straight of losing? Given SDSU's circumstance the support has been fine. Rocky is a poor in game coach and there are other fun things to do in San Diego, why go? This isn't Wyoming. Basically you are saying a bad product should be supported. SDSU had a higher attendance than the likes of Cal, AFA, TCU, Boise, and Cincy. A mediocre team with very little tradition finishing in the middle of the pack in attendance is decent. chicken/egg. Support making it better by pressuring the admins, don't bag on the team. We don't understand that dynamic. Look now, a perfect example, the amount of venom and quitting already is emblematic of our weak-ass fandom. We are part of the problem. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards No, number 1 to winning is good coaching, not attendance support. It goes that way first, the support was building under Hoke, and attendance was on way to be averaging 40 K+ with improvement and decent schedules. You can't expect a bad program with little to no tradition, with bad coaching, mediocre recruiting, and a poor schedule (SDSU best home game may very well be a mediocre SJSU team) and expect to have high attendance numbers. That is delusional.

You can judge it any way you chose. As I said earlier, you and I disagree. Opinions have that consequence.

The point is clear, a supportive fan base can be critical and have high expectations but they focus it on the admins and support the team. Mature fanbases get that. We don't. If you actually took a minute or two to think about it there are several reasons. -living in san diego is way better than most of the cities in the Pac. -CU is more garbage than wazzu -your family lives in sd and you want them to be able to attend as many games as possible. -chance to get on the field sooner if playing time is what matters to a kid. Football recruits dont make decisions based on weather and city life. The on campus and the stadium atmospheres are much more important Lol ok ucsd guy. Characterizing all recruits as never taking this into consideration is pretty stupid. It's not a factor for every kid obviously but for some it is. Please refrain from making absolute statements like these.

If you somehow figured out a way to find a job & buy a house and live in San Diego you are not interested in watching your team beat The Wyoming's of the world.
As soon as we play in a league and beat nationally known teams we will draw big crowds.
