I think he should be given more time because it looks to me like the man is already making the changes necessary to make us into a winner in regards with coaches and defensively personnel/size-wise, and schematically. Maybe an ol dog can learn new tricks. Heck, look at Spurrier. He went from the Fun n Gun in FLA to his current physical brand of offense at South Carolina. And look Noel Mazzone, the oc at UCLA. The guy went from a west coast offense guy to a spread and if you've seen their offense, it's awesome and fun to watch. A fusion of west coast principles with spread passing. Anyways, i digress...
Here's what I see Rocky doing:
1. Coaches: He just put them on notice during today's conference.
2. Personnel/Size:
Randy Ricks, 6'5 225, 4.6 (but acad concerns) states that he's being recruited to play linebacker.

Dakota Turner, 6'3 250, states that he's being recruited to play linebacker.

We all know they can be moved but I've followed recruiting enough to know NEVER during the Hoke/long era have players this size ever stated they would play lb. They've always stated that they'd be playing on the line. Maybe having Miles Burris in his system has changed Rocky's mind in terms of size and now is looking for typical 3-4 sized linebackers. Now, we dont have any dline commits but the offers we do have out to dtackles are to guys that are already as big if not bigger than our current guys. It might not be much but to me, it seems like a recruiting shift.
2. Schematically: Finally he's incorporating more zone blitzing. Seems like an obvious to most of us but again, after how many years, he's now incorporating them? Yeah, he should've had them earlier but again, it shows to me that, at least, the man hasn't quit. He's still learnig, still adapting, still changing.
Basically, 2 things I want to see by next January:
1. Recruiting Class with SIZE at Dline and LB positions
2. New coaches: OL, DL. If any position needs fiery guys, its these two along with being strong recruiters, which they currently are not.
I know it's not much of a defense for Rocky but hey, I gave it a shot. If he signs these linebacker commits and keeps them at linebacker and also signs larger dlinemen, it would show me that he isn't here just to retire and that he still has the fire to change, adjust, and improve as a coach. And go from an average coach to a very good coach.
