Says on ASR that after suffering the effects of a groin injury, he's now had surgery for a sports hernia - whatever that is - and may now be lost for the season.
Question for those more knowledgeable than I am. Could he qualify for a medical redshirt or is that only available for injuries resulting from the playing field?

I was hoping to see him in some games this year. Isn't he the fastest on the team?

My first hand info is from seeing him play in CIF title game. He did not impress as a RB, but did lots of damage as a Receiver. I am afraid he will just be buried in the depth chart as a RB.

IMO he, Locket, and Mcfadden are the 3 fastest on the team, I could see him playing a role in the return game when he gets healthy.

Not sure about the redshirt question, but can answer the question about what a sports hernia is. A sports hernia is actually not a hernia at all. It is a tear in the abdominal oblique muscles. It is common in sports where there is alot of twisting of the torso, like soccer and hockey. The two approaches are rest or surgery. I am a distance runner and got a sports hernia and opted for surgery. I was running 2 weeks after surgery, with doctors approval, and ran a half marathon 3 months after surgery.
