Beefeater, you forgot to thank your Daddy, SDSU, for allowing the lesser programs like Irvine to be televised and for the conference to actually get paid for these games being on tv. you forgot to thank us for allowing your games to actually be seen. wasn't it san diego state who approached the bw, and not the other way around?

This is terrific news...especially for people who have Time Warner and ATT U-Verse. I say that because it adds another log to the fire on the side of Fox Sports San Diego. Now they have the Padres exclusively who are on the upswing with new ownership...AND now they have the top draw in San Diego sports wise in the Aztecs. In my opinion, its gotta be just a matter of time now that Time Warner and ATT finally cave-in and we ALL get FSSD. Just waiting for that to OFFICIALLY happen is still a bitch. U verse has a chance but no deal in the works with TW.

If you like ass kissing so much, go find a Boise State Bronco to smooch. You can thank them for bringing your FCS-level football team to the Big East. Fresno by three touchdowns. Boooom! Head shot.

Hell....I'd kiss a Bronco for getting the football team out of the MWC any day! It will be fun to play the Big East teams on a regular basis and go to places/venues we've never been to. Not to mention expose SDSU to much more of the country. The East will now actually watch SDSU with an interest like never before. Oh and don't forget about the benjamins! Gettin' paid is always nice!

Hawaii now has 2 Tier-3 deals with the BIG WEST.
The first is with FOX COLLEGE SPORTS for 20 games and the second is with Oceanic (Time-Warner) for whatever's available after the Tier 1, 2 and FCS select their games.
Looks like the Oceanic deal is worth $2.3 million. But...don't know if...or how much of that is shared.
No clue how much the FOX COLLEGE SPORTS deal is worth.
Still wonder how we got away with FOX COLLEGE SPORTS being a Tier-3. Maybe it's actually a Tier-2 deal signed exclusively for Hawaii?
Maybe the answer will come with time. SDSU should look into it.

are you sure that deal is staying? And if it is, are you sure that isn't getting shared with the conference? Word was that the football part of that deal was going to get eaten by the barnacles and pilot fish in the mountains. And, most of that deal's value is football.

Hawaii signed the FOX COLLEGE SPORTS deal after we announced we were joining the BIG WEST. Now that our "Regional" carriers are Fox as well, I'm sure they'll have no issues with it. For the $2.3 million from Oceanic (Time-Warner)? The football part will definitely go to CBS-SN and maybe the MWC? The part that's BIG WEST related may or may not get divided. Wouldn't surprise me if it does get divided...but haven't heard.
