My daughter and I will be in SD for the Airforce game. A booze cruise would be just the thing to make the trip complete. I hope this happens, cause I'm in for two.

someone mentioned in another thread that this had been discussed, either by alumni or the show or someone, but i haven't seen anything else about it - is something actually being organized or is this just an outside possibility? the reason i ask is that this is an excellent idea, and if it's going to happen, planning needs to start now. i'm willing to take it on if there isn't anyone else putting something together and if there's enough interest. i'd imagine it'll play insanely well on espn that night, giving further credibility to what is already recognized as one of the best fan experiences in the country. recruits may see it as a creative and dedicated fan base that they want to play in front of and.. and.. and! more than anything, i think it could be awesome. a great group of fans out on the harbor, a bunch of hdtvs set up and a great show. who's in? who knows people? please, let's make this happen. THIS! great idea. Any progress?

i'm looking into it - first have to see if it's possible at all, i don't have thousands of dollars to put into it, so it'll require an option to sell tickets by the ship company (im sure nobody wants to paypal money to some stranger). but i'm talking to a couple of the bay cruise companies to see if there's any way to make this happen.

I've also been working on getting a yacht for current/recently retired show members for a little over a week now. But it could fit a little over 40 people.. At around 75 bucks per.. I can keep this board informed on the progress, although the selection process would be discretionary is demand exceeded supply.

Not front row show members, but I have met a few of you guys and have been sitting in the student section since the Mike Mackell days. Let me know if there is any room available after you take care of the currents and formers.

You either started sitting there WELL before your college years, or you are hitting the ripe age of mid-30s. Either way, keep living it big.

Looking to be a little under $70/pp and we will have drinks, music blasting, banners, big screen tvs and the like. I'm gonna see how the 42 person limit shakes out and start reaching out if necessary. I don't think we'll get all 42 with our current contingent so I'll count you in if its happening.

Questions for people that would be interested in going:
1. How many people in your party can you get seriously interested in going? I'm trying to get a rough tally. 2. How much are you willing to spend per person to attend such an event? TVs, bar, music, and other general awesomeness will be included. 3. 3 or 4 hour cruise? The price difference is about $15 per person, which may not sound like much, but the difference between a $75 and $90 event might get people out. 4. Cash bar or open bar? This makes a significant difference in per-person ticket price (approximately an extra $35 per person extra for open bar service). It depends on how much you're looking to drink but if you don't think open bar will be worth it to get you on board, I'll keep it in mind.
Still working on this, I'll try to keep everyone updated.

I find it unlikely that you will get enough ofr two different groups, might be a good idea for you two to consolidate the plans.

I'm looking at getting ~100-150 people. I'm still very early in discussions for this, so I'm flexible on ship size if need be to add other groups.

I really hate to poop on all of this enthusiasm and support but... Have any of you given any thought to the fact that your chances of seeing any part of this game from a boat in the harbor is about the same as you starting in the game? Have you actually gone down there and seen any boat on the water near the Midway? Does it actually look like they could see the deck? Now picture temporary bleachers for about 5K all around this small court on the deck blocking the view of outsiders even more. Seriously? This is not pulling your row boat up next to a Humphrey's concert. You're going to see nothing but the side of an aircraft carrier and what looks like the backs and butts of a few thousand fans in the distance. I would hate to hear of one of you getting killed for good intentions by an angry bunch of drunks on a boat. Find out if I'm wrong (not) before you invest too much time in this. The illusion of this is fantastic though...very creative. Now you may poop on the messenger. PS...absolutely hope I look like a fool and this really works.

No one thinks they'll be able to see the game. But we'd have tvs and it would be a fun experience.
