I can tell you that NMSU fans are rooting hard for Air Force as that could be just the break we need to get into the MWC. I'm wondering about BYU. Would SDSU lobby for them or against them? I know there's kind of a love/hate relationship there - BYU is a pain in the a** as a conference mate but on the flip side they sell tickets.

so I guess this closes the door on Fresno, and keeps the BW at 11 teams huh?

Nevada would be a good choice. I think that it's more likely than Fresno

"You feel an affiliation, not just in terms of proximity but in terms of mutual respect among the institutions that are part of this league," Calhoun told the Colorado Springs (Colo.) Gazette in July. "You take guys out of school, leave on Thursday and miss all day Thursday and Friday -- sure, the revenue part of it, you might say maybe or maybe not -- I just think there's more to it."
the head coach and the outgoing Superintendent Lt. General are both against such a move. at what point do the BLECh members just say "next?"

"BYU and ESPN also have an eight-year television deal worth nearly $4 million a year through 2018 with an option for 2019, sources said. The deal also allows BYUtv, which reaches 55 million homes, to broadcast one home game and rebroadcast every home game and every game ESPN has the rights for."
Even though BYUtv reaches 55 million homes, do you think anyone ever watches it other than mormons? It is just lost in the hundreds of channels that are now on cable or satellite. I rarely even see it if I am channel surfing.

Not a big fan of Army to big east but getting to 15 seems a little weird so I'd be all for BYU, AFA, and Army to big east, all of which have national fanbases.

I'd be surprised if Army was interested since their one foray into joining a Conference with C-USA failed miserably. Air Force has a history of belonging to a conference, but Army's history of independence combined with the C-USA experience makes it unlikely they'd go for it. Also consider the usual level of school that Army schedules - this season includes Stony Brook, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Ball State. It's a bigger step up to the Big East for Army than it would be for Air Force.

Are you a NMSU student/grad? I attended NMSU for a few years 89-92 to play golf, before transferring back to SDSU to graduate. I lived in the "alumni" dorms right outside the PanAm center and had some of the best times I ever had. My buddy and I lived next to Randy Brown and Reggie Jordan during the days when we took down the LJ led Runnin' Rebs....that was a great night, the last second banked 3pt from Keith Hill to win!

I stopped reading at AFA or BYU. The Borg ain't coming so the issue is moot.
Instead, the issue should be AFA or Cal State Fresneck. On the one hand, Fresneck would be a better choice for us for a number of reasons. OTOH, Fresneck fans are collectively so annoying, I find myself wanting to give them a swift kick in the nuts. A HARD swift kick in the nuts.

Nevada would be a good choice. Besides the fact they have a very good choice, name one reason.

We were there about the same time then as I attended during the Randy Brown / Reggie Jordan years as well. I graduated from NMSU quite a few years ago. The UNLV game you are speaking of was my last game. I had just graduated but went back to Las Cruces for that game (with the excuse of having to move out of my apartment). Grew up as a SDSU season ticket holder and even held on to my tickets while I was at NMSU. I live in LA now so it isn't really practical for me to make it down there for too many games, so I canceled my season tickets about 7 or 8 years ago. Oh, and "Alumni Avenue" is no more. It was leveled a few years ago and replaced by student apartments.
