If you think that's a weak schedule take a look at what UNLV and New Mexico have on there schedule? The issue with scheduling top 25 teams no one wants to go on the road. Look at Duke they hardly go out on the road for the first two months of the season. Plus our athletic department is cheap and when we play top 25 opponents we usually do two for one. And then people get pissed off because Fisher does two for one.

Plus who else do you want to play. We are already playing Syracuse, Arizona, UCLA, UNLV X2, New Mexico, Nevada, missouri st, ole miss, and USC. Do u want play Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina to top off the schedule. Those three teams will never play at Viejas. You only get to schedule ten out of conference games plus a couple of exhibition games. Fisher has an oral agreement with USD to play them every year so that only leaves nine out of conference games. Why do you think Fish wanted to leave to Big west with only a half schedule??

I would like to see a couple of more big names at home but there is some damn good teams on that schedule. Does anyone questioning the schedule think at Missouri State is going to be an easy game?

Does anyone questioning the schedule think at Missouri State is going to be an easy game? IMO, a vast majority of fans have totally written off mo. St, @usc, and first 2 rounds of the Diamondhead as "easy" wins.

The schedule is perfectly fine only problem is there aren't enough attractive home games. The Diamonhead competition will be good and USC has more talent than any of you guys can seem to notice.

Are they that clueless about college basketball? I wouldn't say that. It's my ASSumption after all. I just think that us fans have had the pleasure of watching really great basketball the past 2 seasons. We have had teams that have reacted to the rare loss very well and bounced back. The teams deserve a ton of credit for their hard work. I don't think it is all that unreasonable to consider that there is a legitimate chance of SDSU losing @usc, mo.St. or not reaching the championship of the Diamondhead. Winning on the road is tough. If that happens, I will be more intested in how the team reacts because we all know how the groupthink of fans will be. Hence, my comment about abundant tickets for home games.

USC will not be an easy game. Trojans have really hit on the transfer trail with Wise, Stewart, Terrell and Woolridge. Missouri State is also a dangerous game. The schedule is definitely not a piece of cake.

so we're all in agreement that this is our toughest OOC schedule ever, and there isn't much more we can do in the way of scheduling... let's see what our OOC SOS# looks like in january shall we?

Yaa, I agree...it may end up to be one of our toughest OOC schedules, possibly ever. I mean, take out the games against Cuse and UCLA, and it isnt really all that different to prior OOC schedules we've had...But when you throw those two into the mix, on top of a respected tournament in Hawaii...it becomes quite a tough, and exciting schedule. Regardless if you're SDSU or anybody in the country.
I think some people just initially see the lesser attractive games arent at Viejas, so they think it isnt good enough or something. When it really is just the opposite.
I just look back to Kawhi's freshman year, '09, when our biggest game OOC was more so than not against St. Mary's AT st. marys on ESPN....now we're playing on a neautral aircraft carrier against Syracuse, as well as the top billing game against UCLA? Im still more than impressed.

My problem with the schedule is that the top 3 teams Syracuse, UCLA, and UA are not going to be at Viejas! Bummer!

Right. It's not that the non conference schedule is so bad. It's that the home games leave much to be desired in the way of opponents. The good news is that 2 of the better "away" games are close enough to drive to. And the potential Arizona matchup would make for good Christmas night viewing.

My problem with the schedule is that the top 3 teams Syracuse, UCLA, and UA are not going to be at Viejas! Bummer! Cuse in no way shape or form would play us (or anyone else) that early in the season and that far out without it being in a neutral site. Although the game is in SD, you add the fact that it's on a carrier and you can get almost anyone out here. UCLA has been avoiding us for years, won't sign a home-and-home series per their own rule of not playing non-Pac12 opponents anywhere other than at Pauly Pavilion. Arizona will be in viejas next year. Steve Fisher and the rest of the coaches involved in arranging games did a hell of a job this year considering all the hurdles they had to jump.

It's definitely a tough schedule. It is rather unfortunate, however, that none of the best OOC games will be at the Madhouse on the Mesa. Fortunately for me, my family and I will be going to the Wooden Classic, which should be an awesome game.
