I remember reading on here that men's soccer won't be moving to the Big West right away. Something about being locked in with the Pac 12 since they only have like 6 teams and us leaving would screw them over.
Can anyone confirm that? Or better yet, post a link to some real info?
If true, it sucks that they won't be able to move right away. Big West is hugely superior to the Pac-12 in men's soccer.

that's right, dreadhawk.
SDSU's delayed entry into the BW for men's soccer was done out of courtesy to help the Pac 12, who adds Cal State Bakersfield next year. You need at least six teams for an auto-bid to the NCAA tournament in any sport. For the next two seasons, the Pac 12 will have seven members.
With New Mexico leaving the MPSF for C-USA I can definitely see the Pac absorbing the MPSF. In other words - UNLV, SJSU, Air Force, Seattle, and Denver all join the Pac for men's soccer. Dallas Baptist is probably homeless.

With SDSU coming into the BW for men's soccer, what happens to the divisional play and Sac St. affiliate member? Right now the BW has eight men's soccer programs. CSF, UCI, UCR, CSN, SB, CP, UCD and Sac. St. None of the current or future BW members without men's soccer will add men's soccer, so unless SDSU finds the right Jon, that means 9 BW men's soccer teams. Divisional play would be awkward- 5 teams in So Cal, 4 in Central and No Cal. Do they go to round robin play? Or kick Sac St. out and put CSN in the north division?

Divisional play will stay. as far as Sac State is concerned they will have options:
- go back to MPSF (if it's still around) - go to the Pac. - stay in the BW.
I'm leaning towards them staying.
