Please. Every fan base has a certain percentage of people who lose it after a loss. Nor Cal folk are no different so stop pretending otherwise... BINGO. NoCal fans are easily the most obnoxious group of fans on the planet...HELLO OAKLAND RAIDERS! Well, that and Boston/New England fans...oh yeah, Philly fans too... I'll see your bathroom-stall stabbing, two-strike-offender Raider fan and raise you a (Candlestick) park full of battery chuckers.

i'm relatively new here - i just can't believe the number of 'fire rocky', 'we're doomed' threads that have been started. one game into the season and everyone's done. we had high hopes going into this last game, but we all (realistically) knew a win would be tough. being completely objective, rocky is doing something that has a lot of people watching. also, we didn't get savannah state destroyed - not only did we comfortably cover the 16.5 point spread, but 14 of washington's points were scored in the first thirteen minutes of the season. other than the fumble, we had the huskies under control the rest of the game. and rocky's gambles - yeah, they're risky. but say that this all worked out the way we all had hoped. we would have won the game and everyone (not just san diego, but certainly espn's highlight reels as well) would be talking about the ballsy coach calling the plays for sdsu. also, sdsu's 4th quarter touchdown was the result of a 4th and 10 that they went for, and a 4th and goal on the 1. credit +6 points to the risk payoff column. it's not all bad. so we lost a game. maybe there's some kinks to iron out. but i'm willing to bet rocky is going to stick to his guns for *at least* half of the season so buckle up and try to enjoy the show. we have a coach that's taking unorthodox chances to improve our program and get us some positive attention. even after a loss, i'm proud that that's what our program is about. we're 0-1, not 0-8. i'm still going to be standing at my seat on saturday cheering for every 4th down that rocky has the stones to go for, not rolling my eyes and groaning when we miss. yes, i'm optimistic that this is going to work out, but i understand that it's a long shot (if "long shot" hasn't been used as a headline somewhere by now, i'd be amazed). but my hoping this works is no more ridiculous than looking for replacement coaches one game into the season. Yep

If our players executed better, and our O-line actually blocked, people would be calling Rocky a genius.
I like him as our coach. He's building something here. Our teams are no longer softies...although he's continuing what Hoke started and IMO about to take it to the next level when teams who play the Aztecs know they're going to get hit hard every play.
It's obvious we have a lousy group of kickers. This is his was of hiding it. I rather him go for it than put it on the foot of a kicker he does not trust.

I usually just call the police and tell them to keep me off the bridge. Hang in there, Matt

Yup, always a bunch of people saying, hea we beat the spread, then spending the rest of the week asking for the ostracization of posters, being passive aggressive in thread after thread, a few hey, we used to be really bad (read: SDSU doesn't deserve to win, at least we're not a laughing stock), a cutesy poster changes his name after random numbers, and then a circle jerk where they all circle the wagons saying how one troll poll is the worst thread in the history of threadom and that goes on for page after page. Oh, and usually a thread asking if it's always this bad after a loss

Absolutely. It just seems worse as there are more fans after a couple winning seasons to do what fans do after a loss. Remember, reading/posting in forums like this is like talking to the guy next to you in a bar except he doesn't have to look you in the eye. Fred Noonan.

I thought this board was rather tame this week. You should have seen it in years past. Just wait until our basketball team loses to someone that they should have beat.

I'd be much more forgiving of errors if this wasn't such an important time for the football program. As another poster well put it, going to the BE allows us to keep treading water but it certainly doesn't guarantee permanent survival of the program. Simply put, we need to keep getting close to 40K butts per game and to keep going bowling annually. And when we get there, we can't win just once every five tries.

Should we put you on suicide watch? You seem close. Yes, please take my shoe laces. Or we could just tatoo a "L" on your forehead.

Yes, please take my shoe laces. Or we could just tatoo a "L" on your forehead. You mean instead of an "A." Keeping it scarlet would be appropos, however.

Hah! The WA fans are worse off than we are those pac12 elitist bags don't know whether to fire the coach, jump off a bridge or put their life savings down on the 24.5 point spread vs. Lousyanna! We may not have won, but I saw no quit & no AZTECS ready to "bow down" to those bozos!
GO AZTECS!
