We did albums, what are your favorite tv shows?
Mine: The Prisoner - just an amazing piece of work
Faulty Towers - Cleese's best work and to me the most perfect Sit. Com of all time
Mr.Bean - can make any act funny/entertaining
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (the new versions of Rifftraxs and Cinematic Titanic are awesome - maybe awesome-er) - watching them again, there are so many jokes that I couldn't have gotten as a kid, and yet it was still hilarious back then
Sopranos - so many good characters like Ralphie and such even outside the main guys
Mr. Show - best written sketch show i've ever seen, twists on twists
South Park - allegorical fart jokes: a winning recipe
Arrested Development - can be pretty amazing at times, especially first 2 seasons
Twilight Zone - teleplays and cinematography are pretty damn outstanding, and some of the acting is so good, hell, even Shatner was good
Seinfeld/Curb

PBS, History Channel and the Discovery Channel, but not all of the shows. I do not and have never watched Ice Road Truckers, Commercial Fishing and Pawn Shop shows.
I also like old movies as shown on AMC and Turner.
Actual shows on television lost my interest after they canceled Star Trek (the first series), Twilight Zone, One Step Beyond, The Outer Limits, Gunsmoke and the first Mickey Mouse Club with Annette Funicello and Karen and Sharon and the rest. I am still stuck in the Fifties and Early Sixties.

Entourage and Seinfeld re-runs. Other than that, just sports.
Oh, I do confess to watching American Idol...hey, my fiance got me into it.... ;D

Andy Griffith Munsters Leave it to Beaver The Odd Couple Sanford and Son All in the Family Bob Newhart My initial reaction was just sitcoms? Then I thought about it and I can't think of any non-sitcom that I ever liked all that much. (I do really like "House," however.) Regarding your choices, I was never much of a fan of The Odd Couple but the rest were indeed great. Others: Beverly Hillbillies Cheers Laverne & Shirley (Lenny and Squiggy were classic characters) Taxi (loved Latka and DeVito) WKRP (bunch of great characters) Also, if you meant just the first Newhart show, I'll add the second one. Both were great.

I'll just go with what's on now, although I'd put Rockford Files in my top 3 of all time. Pretty much it's USA. SF and History - in no particular order:
NCIS White Color Royal Pains Psych Warehouse 13 Amazing Race (hey, Tom and I agree at least once in a while ;D) American Pickers Pawn Stars History Detectives
I had hoped "Who Am I" would be interesting, but it turned out to be mostly a hour long commercial for Ancestry.com.

Just started (stealing/downloading, whatever) the first newhart show a few months ago, good lord that is funny. Loved his albums as a kid and heard him on satellite radio doing an interview and he is still as sharp as a tack, one of the great comedy minds ever. He makes being on the other end of a phone call funny.

Second Bob Newhart show, eh, liked it but not half as much as original. I watched it regularly and must admit that part of my interest was having met the actor who played Michael, Newhart's niece Stephanie's boyfriend. Peter Scolari is his name and he was playing frisbee with his dog in front of the school down the street when I took my first son there to skateboard a number of years ago. We got talking and he invited me to a taping of the show and let me go backstage, during which I very briefly met Newhart. Scolari is an accomplished juggler who entertained the audience during breaks in filming. He has a schtick similar to Penn & Teller but with juggling rather than magic. Pretty talented guy.

John, one of these days you really need to get out of the '70s. =Bob I'll need to get outta the '50s first. Except you're not old enough to have seen them in the '50s so I'm sure you watched them in repeats in the '70s. =Bob

Got his acting start with Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies. Often showed off his juggling skills on that show. =Bob
