ASU has always gotten a lot of players up and down the 15 corridor - corona, rancho, Riverside, etc - would be great to start kicking their ass there for players since that has been Rocky's bread and butter recruiting area for the last 4 years

Rivals is reporting that a promoter/handler from their Elite passing league is predicting they go to ASU and steering them away from SDSU because it is not Pac 12.

They will have the pick of the litter every time. There is no way around it. SDSU will get their guys, but the Pac will own that area for a long time.

They are also leaning toward taking their LDS mission, so whoever gets these guys won't see them on the field until at least 2015.

;D With the entry of Utah into the Pac-12, USC, Utah in most years and in some years UCLA will likely dominate the south conference. Colorado, Arizona, Arizona St. will fight amount themselves but not be able to dominate. The only reason to choose ASU over AZTECS is their all weather facility. It is also more difficult to qualify to get into SDSU than ASU. But SDSU and ASU probably puts same amount of Line-backers into the NFL. But the SDSU weather is awesome. I don't expect these guys to commit to SDSU, but it is good pub that they are looking. walkonfan... Go STATE!

I've known LDS kids who have the best of intentions to do their mission work but end up putting it off until after football or never do it. Saw Manti Teo make decisions based on schools which would let him go after 2nd year but he never went. We should still pursue the LDS kids and if they're good enough, offer them whatever they want with regard to going on mission work after a red shirt year, sign them with a promise to let them go before they start school, etc. Most times the kids will just play ball and skip the mission work so the school won't lose anything in the deal. Also, excited today when I saw this highlight video pop up of Turner's first few games this season so far. Check it out, we're looking good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eetmnDS7Ud8&feature=plcp

Would they go on a mission right after HS or would they wait a year or two? Obviously good for the school if they wait (build ties with the team and want to come back) and for them as well. Could you imagine taking 2 years off right after HS then trying to remember how to study (at a higher level)...

Sam Meredith opted to not take his mission and I doubt he takes it after this season or the next.
