sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/eric_mack/08/17/rookie-fantasy-predictions/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_t13_a0"5. RB Ronnie Hillman, Broncos MockDraftCentral.com ADP: 90 The good news about Hillman is coach John Fox doesn't dislike him like Moreno, even though Hillman has had hamstring issues most of training camp. Willis McGahee is going to be the workhorse in an offense that still should be run-heavy, even if Peyton Manning is capable of moving the chains coming off career-threatening neck surgeries. But Hillman is working as the third-down back and since Manning looks healthy, you have to figure Hillman is going to see the field a lot in the number passing sets. Seeing him get picked among the top 90 players is a far too optimistic until something happens to McGahee. Considering McGahee's age and healthy history, maybe early drafters are just expecting the worst from Denver's veteran starter, as opposed to expecting too much from the undersized third-round pick."

I drafted him in my FF draft, of course. I expect him to perform well in the later half of the year.

Unless you have a number of Aztec fans, he'll be undrafted and available later, unless he blows up fast. I'll watch him but leave him as an FA in my leagues.

Wanted him late in the draft, someone jumped the gun and took him in about the 8th (of 16 rds).
I already had Arian Foster and McGahee though, so not too bummed. I'm thinking Roberto Wallace midseason pickup if he runs with the 1s most of the preseason.

Why any commish would have their draft before the third preseason game is beyond me.
No way to lose the interest of a manager than to lose his first round pick before the season starts. Or any pick really in the first three rounds. This goes doubly for people playing in big leagues with 10-16 teams. Talent is so thin there that losing your first or second round pick basically eliminates you from the playoffs.
Guys that might fit that definition: Jason Witten Ryan Mathews Mike Vick Andre Johnson Brandon Jacobs

But ya I was stoked to steal Brown and then found out he'd been injured.

Unless you have ridiculously deep benches it would be silly to grab Hillman in the draft. You're going to use up a bench spot on somebody who's production is likely to come with a few games remaining in a FF regular season? Good luck with that.

has he even played in preseason yet? I'd bet at best he'll have a year like Brown had last year

Unless McGahee gets hurt (which is possible), Hillman will have no value in 99% of fantasy leagues. I do think he can be a good 3rd-down type back and fits well in the Indy/Manning type system. I can see him getting some big runs on 3rd & Med/Long draw plays.

One of my leagues we have two flex players along with 2 WRs and 2 RBs. With 16 people, your bench is vital due to starters getting dinged. I plan on picking him up late. However, I'm in a league with 3 other SDSU alum, a CSU grad, and two morons who went to UNLV.

Possibility is there for him to be valuable as a bench player in my league.
