Frosh LT Paul Rodriguez at 285 lbs, already at the 3 deep. Very impressive. I was worried he'd be another Eric Rouser when he arrived here at 240 lbs. I think Rocky mentioned he was weak as a "kitten", not anymore. So much quality depth and size at most trench positions. I'm eager to see how Texas stud Dan Kottman makes his mark at DE. Good size on the defensive line but we do lack experience. Oldie Out Honestly at 6'7" to gain 40 lbs in two years is freaking NOTHING. A research study a few years ago showed that a 10lb lbm gain for someone 6'0" is the equivalent of someone 5'6" gaining ~5 lbs lbm and someone 6'6" gaining ~20 lbs lbm. The guy should be 300 lbs by now or at least next year - at the very least - or else he has terrible genetics or is not eating correctly or pushing it hard enough in the gym.

No big bodies on the DL. No one to tie up more than 1 O-lineman. I hope we're not vulnerable to the run! Our DL aren't supposed to tie up more than one OL, theyre supposed to be shooting gaps and stunting. Thank you! Too many guys on here don't get that. There are no two gap DL's in this system - everyone has a gap they are responsible for including the LB's. When it is boiled down it is a very easy system to grasp - it is just line changes that mess things up.

Talked to a buddy on Driver, i also wondered what the deal was and why he did not get more PT. Said his game is great except for his blitzing. Said he is just going to fast and trying to make the big play. Get cut or run out. Always played in 4-3 and does not seem to be making the transition with the blitzing in this defense. He did tell me he nad other offrr, Nevada, and Air force. And lost a bunch of interest when he broke his leg in summer before his senior year. I say wonderful things from in when he was in, but do belive that mike is the best poision for him. I think he will get his shot this year becUse both Fely and andrews are banged up. Hope he gets his shot. I believe he can get it down.just love to see it for the kid. As the interview said it must be tough for him to have been the man in high school and nowjust playing special teams and mop up. His days will come. .

He's only been under Hall for a few months.

Driver's bad luck.??! Did the interview when he was #2 at B. And the next day was switched back to mike. Welcome to D 1 football. Everyone is good. Very strong 3 deep at LB. Seau, Driver and FeSter. Very strong... i thi.k all will play lots of special teams and get reps at LB.

And Vizzi has already passed Nicholas and Hazely. Ruffin and the latter two had a chance to shine last year but none did. Time for them to step it up if they don't want to get lost in the shuffle. Ruffin was inligible last year and Hazely redshirted. Forgot about Hazely. Regarding Ruffin, as The Oracle implied, he was the most pleasant surprise of spring camp in 2011 yet he's now that far down on the depth chart? Let's hope it's at least a bit of a motivational tactic since we all had very high hopes for him.

Man, the size if the receivers is impressive, not to mention the depth.
