Her speculation is not totally baseless, and keep in mind that this article is based in opinion.
Andrea Adelson backhanding the Big East is nothing new.

She gets taken apart by a few of the commenters in the comments section for ignoring things that don't line up with her opinion.

Yeah, just another self-serving piece for ESPN.
That comment about how the conference should change its name to "From sea to shining sea" cracked me up, though! ;D

What am I missing? Article seemed to be pretty fair in presenting both side of the Big East situation. Given the previous comments, I was expecting and very negative self-serving ESPN article. However, in the article coaches and the interim commissioner were quoted extensively in support of the value of the Big East. It's cool though, we need to keep that massive chip on our shoulder. As Aztec fans we are used to being on the wrong side of ESPN.

Her speculation is not totally baseless, and keep in mind that this article is based in opinion. Andrea Adelson backhanding the Big East is nothing new. Closer to "gladhanding" than "backhanding" I'd say. Adelson's good. Why would anyone have a problem with her? She runs a great chat and her blog is pretty insightful compared to most. The bottom line is she still has to tow the company line. Between now and the end of the month I expect to see ESPN ramp up their criticism by other paid contributing writers. They only have 3 more weeks. Never forget the admission by one of the ADs in the ACC, ESPN told the ACC to go after Syracuse and Pitt. Those two schools are now beholden to ESPN for the next 20 YEARS at fixed revenues. I think the nBE is more dynamic and the TV contract will strengthen the conference with the media cities they picked up. It's all about money and how it's used.

True, but by then, we will have beaten the Zoobs to win the 2012 Pointsettia Bowl the night before, so it's all good.
