Q: Have you gotten any offers to coach in the pros?
A: Nope, but I am very happy coaching right here. Right now, I just take it one day at a time and my main focus is to help this program become a nationally known power and someday compete for a national championship.
Great way to end an interview.

Sipe is no spring chicken. Makes me wonder why he wasn't offered some type of NFL coaching position before coaching at Santa Fe Christian. He certainly got his resume from his Browns playing days. Maybe he invested well and doesn't need the dough. NFL jobs are good money.

In the pic it looks like he is shaking hands with John Featherstone who had a tremendous game in the Pasadena Bowl that Sipes mentioned.

I'm surprised he wasn't asked about Zuma... No one really cared then and no one cares now. What did sipe do in between the NFL and coaching high school?

It sucks that they got rid of Zuma seeing as there was a 50/50 chance that Aztec fans deeply adored him

Sipe is a class act all the way. I love his attitude about going for the NC. You don't win the NC unless that's your goal to begin with. And I know Rocky thinks the same way.

I heard he did well in real estate, besides doing what you love is more important than money.

It was a true passion for him. SDSC didn't offer an architecture degree so he went back to school after his pro playing days were over. He ultimately founded his own firm and coach HS football on the side. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

Have had the opportunity to coach against Coach Sipe twice while he was at SFC. An extremely classy and gracious man to coach against. Now that he is assigned to recruit our school, I have found him to be a great representative for SDSU. I have to think that his cool demeanor has a real calming affect on our QB group.

He made some coin selling his NJ General's jersey number while in the USFL to another player on his team. :-)
Smart move. I never understood the attachment to a number so far, one would pay for it.
