I hope there is a large pricetag associated with either of these schools attempting to buyout the trip to SD.

I hope there is a large pricetag associated with either of these schools attempting to buyout the trip to SD. I'm guessing that they would rather buy out the Boise road trip. At least coming to San Diego they are getting a quality opponent who won't kill their RPI (even though a loss is more likely).

Am kind of surprised it sounds like Fisher actually isn't big on the BE games, I'm sure aztecc will tell us how Fisher is delusional in getting top 25 games at home.

the first sentence says "they didn't hesitate to help out san diego state's program". Help out!? Come 'on...its a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Comments from Boise's coach also made it sound like they were definitely going to the BW...maybe an indication that they've finally reached an agreement in principal?

Am kind of surprised it sounds like Fisher actually isn't big on the BE games, I'm sure aztecc will tell us how Fisher is delusional in getting top 25 games at home. I didn't get that out of the article... Fish is withholding comments - that's all. The one thing I did take away from the article was Katz lumping us in with Memphis & Temple as quality programs and perennial contenders who don't stand to gain as much from this H&H series as does Boise (I guess I'm still adjusting to the increasingly common occurrence of the sports media - East Coast bias and all - acknowledging our program as perennial contenders ). Anybody know if UCONN is still one of the BE teams in contention for either of the two remaining H&H series? Given our first four years of membership in the BE will coincide with our first four years of playing hoops in the Big Worm (and in five years' time, who knows where we will be playing?), those four OOC BE games should go a long way towards maintaining a respectable RPI...

I added the following comment to the article:
The article said "but Fisher wants scheduling flexibility -- and anticipates being able to lure top 25-type teams to San Diego, even as a member of the Big West". Fisher and the Aztecs have had trouble getting sufficient quality teams to schedule home and home games. UCLA, for instance, will not. That is why Fisher pushed for this agreement as part of the football move to the Big East. The scheduling trouble may have been due to their TV contract. With a new Big West TV contract, presumably with ESPN, that will no longer be an issue. Good home OOC games would have a great chance of being nationally televised. But this arrangment is a blessing for the Aztecs. ...

Comments from Boise's coach also made it sound like they were definitely going to the BW...maybe an indication that they've finally reached an agreement in principal? here's the quote from Leon Rice: "And we have the MWC schedule this year, which will have some top-15 teams," Rice said. "We're trying to build a high-quality non-league schedule. Next year would be one of our veteran teams as we move into the Big West. I wanted to stack the scheduling going into the league, but that hasn't happened yet."

Am kind of surprised it sounds like Fisher actually isn't big on the BE games, I'm sure aztecc will tell us how Fisher is delusional in getting top 25 games at home. Straw man From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the logical fallacy. For other uses, see Straw man (disambiguation). A straw man is a type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position. To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man

Congrats on the Atlantic 10 and CUSA games! When will we hear about the Big East games you were promised? By this logic, UNLV and SDSU are just MWC programs. We both know better than that, bitter buddy.
