If you listen to the begining of the broadcast the reporters are pretty set on getting out of the Big East and trying to get into one of the big conferences.

SDSU is going to get 6 to 8 million in TV money. As for the "Reporters" they can want "out" all they want but Louisville has no where to go. Big 12 doesn't want them.

SDSU is going to get 6 to 8 million in TV money. I'm with you LA. I've stood by that figure all along.

It's not news that Louisville wants to join the B12. However, since the B12 is obviously after FSU and Clemson and then probably VA Tech and Miami or GA Tech, UL is going to have to content itself with joining the ACC instead.
We Aztecs should just accept that UL, Cincinnati, UConn and Rutgers are all likely to join the ACC by the end of the decade and that ND will probably also move its Olympic sports to the ACC, following which the other Catholic schools will leave. Although all that will mean that the TV deal which will follow the one to be negotiated in a few months will be worth considerably less, the result will be a national best-of-the-have-nots conference with an all-sports western division that will be a better fit for us anyway.

It will be interesting to see how bad NBC or Fox wants to build a sports network. If they are truly serious about it - they will need a stable base product. How do you make sure BE teams don't go to the ACC? You don't give them an incentive to leave (i.e. pay up now so there is no benefit to moving.) If NBC or Fox want to use the BE as a foundation for its network (along with ND), they'll have to do something different than the MTN did with the MWC.... To keep teams from leaving (at least for the ACC)

Big 12 doesn't have to want them. ACC does. They don't want them either...and they won't until they lose teams to the Big 12 or someone else. If the ACC wanted them then they would be in the ACC.

Big 12, and by big 12 I clearly mean Texas, doesn't want a championship game; per internal memos from the interim commish fox and espn said no one besides Notre Dame would increase their per team payout. They aren't moving until ESPN and/or fox agree to add money to the deal for Bevo. The big 12 has gone from bleeding out and near death to thriving and stable

Adding FSU and either Miami or Clemson would add some (brand) value that might make the championship game worth quite a bit - eapecially if they get into bed with jerry jones and his billion dollar stadium.

Championship games for the SEC and Big 12 are considered to be in the 10-15mil dollar range. Each school is making over 20 million now in tier 1 and 2 (and then Texas another 15 mil with Bevo Close Circuit tv). The big 12 has had a couple teams knocked out of what would be the title race in title games. It's not anywhere near worth it to Texas
