At least they are scoring enough runs to allow the pitcher to relax and not pitch like allowing a run was so disastrous for the teams chances to win.

Houston, Colorado, and Arizona are notorious hitters parks. Let's see how reality looks. Earlier this year they wouldn't have scored half that many runs even if they had played all their games in Colorado. They were making mediocre pitchers look like Cy Young candidates.

Oh and Logan Forsythe homered in the 8th to tie the game at 1-1. Bill was wondering if the kids would produce on this homestand, well they sure as hell are in the 1st game!

Grandal just doubled to start the 9th in a tie game with the Reds. This kid is the f*cking man! That double was great. A line drive over the right fielders head. Line drives are not nearly as effected by Petco Park. We now have a number of new players who are line drive hitters. I have always said we need more hitters like that. Bruce always made fun of my statement that Kalil and Adrian don't hit the right kind of doubles. Grandel's double last night is the right kind of double. One that plays on the road and at home. New Padres that are Line drive hitters Grandel Alonzo Amarista Forsythe Cabrera

Line drive doubles and triples score runs in any ballpark. Can't see why a Padre player couldn't lead the league in doubles or triples playing at Petco.

Because Petco Park supresses doubles and triples (combined) at a higher rate than it supresses home runs. Fly balls hit in the gap that are normally extra base hits hang in the air and are caught. Twice since Petco Park opened the Padres have led the NL in doubles on the road and been last at doubles at home. But line drives play in any park. Let opponents who get fat on fly ball hits suffer in Petco Park while the Padres hit their line drives.
