RIP, Junior. On top of being a great player, Junior gave so much back to the community. A sad day.

Another early death for a member of the Chargers Super Bowl team. Just a sad, sad day for O'side, San Diego and the NFL.

sad sad day. wish he had gotten the help he needed No kidding. Depression is no joke. I still suffer with it. Luckily I have tremendous support around me. I said on another thread perhaps that wreck he got into a few years ago was his cry for help. I really fear we're going to see a backlash vs. suicide where some idiots call him selfish. This is a real sickness. It makes you do what nature prevents you from doing; self-preservation. I wish Junior got the help he needed. He was a hero and did so much for his community.

Makes you think that accident in Carlsbad a couple of years ago may have been an ignored cry for help. The older you get the more you realize that very few people really care. Also there are situations in life for which there is no real help. His mother speaking was pretty damn sad. That brought tears to my eyes. I completely agree with the first statement. I do believe you're wrong about no real help.

Makes you think that accident in Carlsbad a couple of years ago may have been an ignored cry for help. I realize he said he fell asleep at the wheel. Man, this is sad. Junior was one of my favorite players off all-time. That was no accident. It was his cry for help.

This is truly terrible news and no doubt of interest to just about everybody who frequents AztecMesa.
Nevetheless, the thread is misplaced here.

I'm not going to bash the guy here. That would just be wrong at this time. However, there are reasons he was not well liked and received very little attention and applause at his induction. I will leave it at that in respect to him at this time.

His Star burned bright. He will be remembered by the way he lived. Not by the way he died. Heaven got a good one today.
BTW, that makes 8 players from the 1995 Super Bowl team now dead. None would be over 50 if alive today. What are the odds?
