I have said before. This guy is not even a Major League level player. If you are going to get his suck ass sub .200 average, and below average fielding, you may as well call up a prospect who has a future, to hit .165 and throw balls into the stands.
That is all.
Fire Bartlett Now.

Bartlett is now hitting a sizzling .141. That means he reaches base by hit, once every 7 times up. You cannot stop him, you can only hope to contain him.

Not to mention the Tucson Padres top hitter at the moment is a shortstop who can also play 3rd, 2nd, and the outfield. Cut your loses and look to the future.

[BillMode] Well, what you guys are missing is that Barlett is .683 in Sunday-day-road games in cities where the mayor is non-anglo. The Padres would be silly to let Bartlett go because they have so many more Sunday-day games in San Fran and LA.
Add that to the FACT that his OPS is .719 for Fri/Sat home games during 3 day weekends and I think we'll need to see at least 2,500 more ABs to properly judge his place. [/BillMode]

I was unaware. Any chance San Diego can get a non- Anglo mayor by the All star break? We need to start Winning! Thanks Charlie Sheen.

[/BillMode] When I use splits, I always insure there are sufficient PA to be meaningful. I have never used splits like you describe above. The only splits used in this thread are from the OP using mostly April Data and 83 AB to pass judgment on a player. Yes, April is a split. The Padres knew their middle infield was a weak point going into the season. They were hoping that one of their former all-star aging middle infielders would have a decent year and they could fill in, if needed, for the other. Bartlett is not long for not only the Padres but baseball.
