Before every home game, the Padres announcer should start off with something like this-- Thanks to all the Padre fans that are here to support an organization that doesn't give a rats azz about you or the city of San Diego. We are thrilled with our ability to gouge Padre fans while spending the least amount of money possible on the team. So, enjoy your $9 beers $6 hot dogs and overpriced tickets to the game. On your way out, please pick up one of our $25 T-shirts that are made in some country in Asia. Once again, thanks for coming out and supporting our very rich owner

And while you're at it, you can thank that very rich owner for his part in upgrading many of our facilities. Ok, you can now go back to your "occupy" protest.

It's called the butter up and a tax write off Tax Write-off? Really? All that means is it cost him about 64% of the donation and the government supplies the other 36% via allowing the deduction. You act as if it is a tax credit. There is a huge difference. So donating $1M cost him about $640,000 in money he could have had in his pocket. So don't denigrate it. As an Aztec fan you should applaud it.

Bill, are you trying to tell me that a billionaire doesn't give donations for tax purposes?? Furthermore, where do you come up with these numbers?? You seem to keep defending the Werner/Moores style of MLB ownership. Well, I have had enough. Before all the BS went down with the Padres recently, some of us thought Moores was up to something. As it turns out, it sure looks that way. I am not mad because Moores is a rich man. I am pissed because, he is taking advantage of Padre Fans and the city his team represents.

The Padres have the lowest payroll in the majors. There is no defending that.

They also have some of the cheapest ticket prices in the major leagues and $5 beers available. Free parking too if you aren't lazy and dont mind walking a few blocks.

I think you were confused, and were actually at the Lake Elsinore Storm game The last Padre game I went to wasn't cheap, and there were no $5 beers

The Padres aren't offering the free parking, so that hardly is relevant. The ticket prices are certainly reasonable, I believe the Padres currently rank as the cheapest average ticket in baseball. I saw that online somewhere. Of course, you're paying to see a AAAA franchise so why not? I'll be there 4/21 vs. the Phillies. f x x x it, I'm loyal.

I enjoy baseball period and support the Padres because they are the home team. Some people act like they are the Pirates and haven't had a winning season in two decades. Being a fan means you take the bad and the good. To each his own I guess, but I support the Padres every year regardless because I enjoy baseball and enjoying going to games.
